not as well displayed as could be

a very matt finish that is not portrayed well in the photo, and the material is overwhelmingly flimsy. The actual shape of the frames are not in question however I am rather disappointed with the finish and the strength, it is almost like they failed to finish the manufacturing process and did not put a final coating on the frames :/ But I guess this is what we get for the price. Over all happy considering the price but did not expect these flaws.

unbelievable value for money

I still can't believe at what price I got my pair of glasses. In normal shops my glasses would have cost me at least 300 euro's or more. At Hans Anders I could have gotten 2 pairs and one pair of sunglasses, but then still for 100 euro's more then 3 pairs of complete pairs would have costed me. And the glasses are great. Everybody likes the style and the quality is great!

Wayfarer priced way fairer!

If you are looking for some classic Wayfarer style specs, be they for everyday eyewear or a set of sunglasses, these are ideal. A quite small frame (hence not all 5 stars) but light and fairly sturdy, these have a slight rubbery finish that some may find a little cheap to the touch.

Cheap but broke within days.

They are cheap but not sturdy. One arm broke off within days and the other a week later. Service is good but they are not strong enough.

Great glasses - can't believe the price!!

I have always bought my glasses from a high street optician & have never been below £100. When I saw these glasses I thought they fitted the current 'geek chic' trend & thought for the money even if I only wore them a few times it would be worth it.....I have worn these glasses every day since their delivery!! I was so impressed with the websites ease of use, the quality of the frames & the service in general. I have since recommended selectspecs to my family, friends & colleagues. I won't use a high street optician again for any new spec purchases.

I made this purchase a bit "tongue in cheek", I mean prescription glasses for £6.00!. The matt frame was a little surprising but not off-putting & the lenses are EXCELLENT. Unexpected Total Satisfaction

Both my wife and I were more than pleased with the total experience at the shop in Westgate on Sea. The opticians examination was more comprehensive than we have ever experienced in this country. The ladies 'front of shop' were helpful and never attempted the 'hard sell' that seems to be the standard operating procedure in this business!! I subsequently ordered more spectacles on line....again problem free and successful in both delivery time and ordered quality. I must add that we are the 'cheap' end of the market but value for money is exceptional. I have and will continue to extol the virtues of your organisation both shop and online to all and sundry. lens (coating?) was cracked upon arrival of glasses

The glasses are absolutely great value for money, look good and apart from the (fake) rivits in the front that are not 100% set symmetrical are well made. The problem for me was that the lens on the left eye arrived with a wired kind of sheen, crackle on as if it had been under stress. I eventually got used to it, but I am not sure that it is healthy in terms of UV filtering or good for ones eyesight. I guess you pay what you get for and from select specs you get even more. Although this incident made me stop referring friends to the side, which I previously have done loads. It is an utter shame that the great value frames are not available with antireflective (actual) glass lenses, instead of the weak polycarbonate ones..

Great style. Shame about quality control. First pair I had were perfect - great lens quality. So I ordered another two identical pairs this year. Only one turned up and they make me feel woozy when I wear them as the prescription on one of the lenses is not consistent from top to bottom. Very cheap glasses though but it's just the inconvenience of chasing them for the other pair and to fix this pair. Still, I'd buy from SelectSpecs again.

Excellent glasses! Second only to my Ray-Bans.

Bought these glasses in black just before I bought my Ray-Ban New Wayfarers. To be honest I wear them as much as the Ray-Bans because the style is great and they're very light and strong too. You can easily modify the fit of the arms because they become pliable if you steam them over the kettle for about a minute. I wasn't sure about the black rubber finish at first until I realised that Ray-Ban also produce this style. For £6 (including all the coatings on the lenses) they are fantastic value. The lenses are flawless. I may just buy another pair in case they stop making them at such a low price!

I love them but not happy with the tint!

I always wanted a pair of prescription sunglasses, these are the 3rd time I have ordered from selectspecs, I love them and their service, the only think I am not happy about, is that the tint 30% its not what I actually wanted :( when you select the % of tint it doesnt show you how dark they actually are, so now I have a pair of glasses that I love but the tint its too light :( (as an update, I have ordered a second pair with 85% tint and when I received them today they were the exact same tint as the first ones i have ordered)

2 months and counting...

Apparently some people are lucky and get their glasses within the specified 14 days, but i'd like to see the stats on that. I ordered my glasses from Selectspecs on 15th November, now it's January and they can't tell me where my order is.

Brilliant glasses, you should definitely buy!

I bought these glasses a year ago thinking they were worth a punt at £10 and hoping they'd last a month or two. I am completly astounded they have lasted so long and will never go back to buying glasses from high street opticians. :D

Would use again

The glasses were better than I expected, strong frames appear to be metal reinforced ruberry plastic. The arms are a bit short for my head and my girlfriend says I look a geek (so I never wear at home) otherwise great. Lenses work just fine for me.

Great For A Budget!!!

I was a little unsure of whether to buy glasses online but I received my glasses this morning and I'm thrilled! My eyes are adjusting to the lenses gradually but so far so good! I ordered 2 pairs of these glasses for work, so i didn't trash my ray bans. Very pleased with them, they look and feel good. The lenses are bang on, and the delivery was extraordinarily fast. From the point of ordering to receiving my glasses was under a week. From Hong Kong to London, for 6 quid.... Brilliant! I'll also point out that with these particular frames the finish is matt, which i didn't realise, but am not bothered by!

Yes try and buy glasses online!

I decided to buy a trial pair of glasses online, as I was a bit dubious about perscriptions over the net. I went for a cheap cheap £6.00 with perscription.

Could not be more impressed with them and very fast dispatch!!! They are not a shiny black plastic as the picture suggests but a matt type plastic, which doesn't look so cheap. The quality of the lens is faultless. I have only just receieved these recently so can't comment on life expectancy/durability.

I will however add that I was a little dissasisfied with customer support. If they can't reply to your enquiry email yet, they email you to let you know it's not that far along in the order process yet and tell you to resubmit query at a later date. This is quite inefficient and they should just not respond until they have the information to do so, opening some ongoing dialogue, not just closing the ticket.

Second order around however was excellent, many thanks, will be getting more specs here for sure!

The thing I worried about was the prescription and whether it would be correct when the glasses arrived but the prescription was spot on and I got used to the glasses within a couple of days.

Tough but uncomfortable.

Made of some sort of rubber which I didn't realise until I got it, which means they're flexible and tough. But they're quite small and pinch the top of my nose, someone with a smaller head or nose might be okay, and I don't know if it's the size or the material but it leaves big red marks on my nose where it rests.

I'm really thrilled with my glasses. I've had them for a few months now and they're still perfect. I'm lucky enough to live a 15 minute drive away from the company's Westgate shop so the next time I need a sight test and new glasses I'll go there. Lucky me. I'm assuming they won't turn up their noses at me when I buy budget unlike they did in a well known supermarket.

I didn't set my expectations very high for a pair of glasses ordered online for $10. So I splurged for the insured shipping. I got them. And slough you can feel the differenc inthe weight. Though the glasses didn't arrive for three weeks it is understandable due to them being posted halfway across the world (and for an excellent postage price too). The glasses themselves are perfect, the style are exactly what I wanted. Regarding the lenses, they are just as good, if not better, than the £120 pair I bought from boots opticians. As a student, fashionable glasses were always a luxury I couldn't afford so I was delighted with the price. Overall I have rated these five stars and would give them six if I could!

Feedback for Black Savannah Pescription glasses

Overall a good purchase, delivery was a little slow but was within the published expectations. The black frames are a little warped and don't sit squarely but considering the purchase price I guess this should be expected. Sight is good, as good as the very expensive glasses I bought from Specsavers. I will shop at Selectspecs again.

Great at the price

This is a decent pair of glasses. The only downside for me being the frames which are almost rubbery in texture and not shiny hard plastic which is what I expected. Still, they are a terrific bargain and well worth the money.

Look and feel of glasses good for money but lenses made me feel dizzy!

For the money these glasses looked great, weren't too heavy especially for what I paid for them (although I paid a little more for slightly thinner lenses). However, I can't really wear them because the lenses make me feel dizzy. I know the prescription is right because I have another pair from my local opticians which I've had for years with no problems. Thus I have come to the conclusion that either the prescription is wrong or the lenses were very poorly manufactured.
