Good Quality at Bargain Price

This was my first purchase from SelectSpecs, as I was not sure about the quality I ordered a pair from the value range. The glasses were delivered 8 days after placing the order and were of perfectly good quality, the only minor niggle was that one sidearm hinge was stiff but that was easily remedied. Overall the quality, price and delivery from Selectspecs is very good.

Good, basic specs for an excellent price.

The specs are functional, look ok and were very well priced.

both pairs of glasses I ordered developed chips in the lenses after less than 24 hours having received them.

As I only wear them for reading it does not bother me, but if it was for everyday wear I would be very annoyed at the chips in them.

Good choice of frames at reasonable price fitted with prescription glasses and an efficient and speedy delivery service made this an obvious choice. Minor problem with one arm of frames being "stiff" initially but now OK after a couple of weeks use.

Great glasses on a budget

I really bought these as a cheap test of the prescription - optician handwriting leaves a bit to be desired. They're great. Simple but everything I need, for a total of about £16 delivered.

Amazing value

This was my first order with Selectspecs and I wasn't expecting much - I thought the glasses would be cheap and flimsy for the price and was just ordering them as a stop gap until I could afford a 'proper' pair. When the glasses arrived I couldn't believe it - they were as well made and sturdy as my old glasses and fit perfectly. My old lenses must have been quite scratched as my view suddenly became so much better and clearer! I have been wearing these new glasses for a couple of weeks now and could not be happier; I have even ordered another pair of glasses from the company so I can have some spares. Excellent spec. specs

I wasn't expecting much for six quid but when they arrived I was really surprised by the quality. Arrived in just over a week so the turn round is good too. Only thing negative to say is the P&P charges are a bit high at £5.95 but the total came in at less than £12 so still the cheapest glasses I could find. I wear glasses all the time and I can see these lasting a good length of time and are just as good as that well known high street optician where "I should have gone to"

Perfect vision with the lenses for prescdription sunglasses which cost only £45. Vision is better than with my £220 ones from a high street optician. The frames were smaller than I anticipated (my fault), so my only criticism is that the web site does not indicate the dimension of the lens bit of their frames. A solution is to, reglaze old frames so you wsee exactly what you are getting.

Prescription Glasses

Theses glasses are OK, how long they last will be the reason that I would buy again. The buying with my prescription was straight forward, the delivery was acceptable, as I live in the Channel Islands, Overall I would recommend these glasses depending on the length of time they last. My last pair of glasses was from Vision Express and up to now they are as good. Everyone knows that the legs break and so the manufactures should strengthen the legs, but then the glasses would last longer and they would not sell as many, (catch-22 Joseph Heller.) Keith

Stylish though a little small for me - ideal for driving

I found the frames a little small, but nonetheless they are fine for driving (I keep them as a spare pair in the car) and look nice on. I prefer springs on the arms but these are OK without them for occasional use. For the price you can't go wrong. Overall very pleased with them. Like the black finish.

I have purchased economy specs from well known high street and small independant opticians and they do not match Selectspecs at 10 times the cost. Obviously you will be paying for the personal service, but if you are not happy with the end product or if your prescription changes within a short period, you will have wasted a lot of money. Frame seems to be too flimsy

the lenses are good although they still have rough edges. the shipping order took about 1 month and 2 weeks from the time i clicked order to the time i got them in my front door. so if you need something fast. don't use this service. the frame i chose not because of the price but because of the style now i realize i should have gone with a higher priced frame even if the style is not what i was looking for or looked exactly like what i wanted. this company will cover their ass by using the term business days. every single time. and i guess they only work about 3-4 days a week Friday to Sunday are weekends i suppose.

From the initial step for the selection of a frame for my glasses, the wide range and variety available on the website was impressive. The ability to search by budget as well as styles made it easier for me to narrow down to my choice of frame.

Once the frame was chosen, the choice of glasses was made easy by the fact of the “freebies” thrown by selectspecs – free UV protection, anti-reflection, scratch resistance, and a free “case” and “cloth” to boot … Finally, the glasses were delivered in a timely manner and I have had no issues with the end product.

The area of improvements are:

1. The ability to view the frames on the face – there are online tool available on other sites to test the frames on the face portrait. 2. The quality of “case” provided could be a lot better – currently, it is just a plastic case which does not appear to be very sturdy.

I've never found a better pair of glasses anywhere near this price range

I was sick of paying hundreds of dollars for a pair of glasses and finally decided it was time to buy my first pair online and see how it goes. After a couple days of browsing, I finally stumbled upon this pair which seemed like the perfect combination of size, style, simplicity, and price. I'll be honest - the cheap price initially turned me off. How could a pair of glasses be this cheap and still be any good? Well I have to say, I just got my glasses in the mail and I absolutely love them. They fit perfect, they have a nice classic look, they are extremely lightweight, and they don't feel nearly as cheap as I thought they might. Can you buy more durable glasses? Probably. But for 10x the price. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, and will definitely be shopping from SelectSpecs again.

These are good glasses for the money you pay and are great as they don't cost the earth and you could buy a couple of pair's and keep them in the car at work and a spare pair at home, all for the same price as one pair from the high street. My only gripe is that one of the nose pads is misshapen and after a while I get a tender spot on my nose, but this won't stop me buying another pair. All in all I'm very happy with what I bought.

This vendor has been simply the best. I am able to send my information and pay for glasses that are quickly and correctly created. They ship to me in the promised time and I spend very little time waiting for exactly what I ordered to arrive. All from the comfort of my own computer in the frozen north of the United States.

Arms have mis shaped and now look wonky.

Good value for money, but they seriously only look the same for about a week, then after wear and tear they look awful. The lenses cant be cleaned properly (must be the cheap plastic used) (specsavers glasses do last longer, rigid frames, better quality lenses which can be cleaned well after yoou first buy them) If its a short term fix. then buy select specs. If its fashion or longer lasting glasses you want, then go to specsavers and pay the £125 2 for 1 offer

Quality speed and value for monet

Superb value, good quality

A tiny fraction of the cost of buying from my local opticians (I discovered that last time even they sourced my glasses from abroad, despite charging me £150!). They also arrived in about the same time (2-3 weeks) as my local optician. The only difficulty was determining the pupillary distance (my optician refused to tell me!), but now that I have it I can continue to buy glasses at a sensible price rather than keep struggling on with old pairs because I could not afford to update them to new prescriptions. The only downside was that the case was very basic, but for that price I don't mind; the glasses were perfect!

So cheap they're almost disposable !

Admittedly they're not at the forefront of fashion - they don't have a name for one thing, but if you can afford to change your glasses every few weeks then people start to notice ! Perfect for wearing at home or in the car. The free lens coatings and cheap postage first got me interested in selectspecs. Definitely not worth trying anywhere else.

Went to local optician who said I needed distance glasses - never had a problem so tried out this website with my prescription. I bought these as a spare pare to bring the order up to the "free postage" level, as such they cost me a meagre £6 more than just the one pair would have been. I didn't go for the thinner lens that my optician recommends due to my prescription, but they don't look particularly thick. Delivery time from Hong Kong was fantastic and they don't look cheap.

Fantastic product at an amazing price

I must confess to having been wary of ordering both a very cheap pair of specs and online at the same time. If they had been just a little more expensive then I would probably have left it. However, I'm glad I did not. The glasses I received were good quality, have a nice feel and work far better than my old pair due to the clear and unscratched lenses. It is almost unbelievable that you can get such a pair of glasses for only £6, especially when compared to traditional opticians prices. I only wish I had order a second pair at the same time.

I went for the cheapest glasses I could find as they are only for use when using the computer. They are not the most robust frames I've ever seen but what did I expect for the price? The prescription is spot on and I have to consider the glasses excellent value for money.

For £10 + £4 postage these are just the job as a second/third/fourth pair to leave in the car or somehwere for emergencies. The quality of the frames and arms isnt the greatest, but then I wasnt really expecting it. At the same time, neither are they appalling quality. If I got caught short I would wear them at work for a day of two, but I wouldnt wear them at an interview. I would buy them again for the same purpose.

Error corrected promptly!

When I received my specs I was rather disappointed that they had been made with one of the lenses incorrect. I only have a small rerading addition, had uploaded my prescription but one of the lenses was like a magnifying glass. I had heard of some issues with getting through on the customer service helpline so decided to give the online chat service a go. Fantastic! I explained the problem, they asked me a couple of questions then went to check the order. Apologised for the mistake and ordered a replacement pair immediately. Whilst admittedly they should have been correct the first time, mistakes happen and the real test of a company is how they react when errors occur. Well done Selectspecs! I now have a pair of very nice prescription glasses for £6 - bargain I'd say.

I bought 3 pairs of glasses, 2 budget and one pair of rimless. The web shop was very easy to use and I have saved my prescription for future use in my profile. These glasses seem to be of a poor quality and cheaply made. The nose pads have fallen off already and the glasses are unwearable.

Superb value for money

Ordered a pair of these for use at work, lost my last pair of expensive glasses and wanted a cheap and cheerful sacrificial pair that wouldn't hurt my wallet too much... and these really fit the bill. At the grand total of £10 inc shipping, I wasn't expecting too much from them, but they turned up (after a fairly lengthy wait, but coming from Hong Kong, that isn't surprising) and I was very impressed. They sure don't look like they cost £6. Timeless design suits many people, and while the frames are cheap plastic, they look fine and are robust enough not to fall apart instantly.

Lenses again are cheap plastic, but the prescription was bang on, and they've not scratched in 3 weeks of regular use.

Definitely recommended, just don't go expecting designer quality. You get more than you pay for, but not THAT much more :)

Lowish quality, but good value for the price

The frames feel cheap, and in fact one was broken when I first received it (but was replaced without too much bother). But I think the lenses are fine and with a bit of luck the frames will last the distance.
I had some issues where I ordered 2 pairs but only received one pair initially. That inital pair had a plastic nose piece detached when I received it. I contacted them and eventually received 2 good pairs.
Delivery time is as advertised(i.e. fairly slow), so you wouldn't be ordering these if you needed new specs in a hurry. But I will probably buy again as my issues were all eventually resolved.

Great value Glass's

These are excellent for the price, functional, good quality. Can’t fault the lens’s either , better than some of the glass's I’ve bought from high street opticians previously.

Excellent Product

Excellent specs, would highly recommend anyone to try this service. They are comfortable and did not need any tweaking at all, which has put me off buying this way, up until now - the fact that they may not fit correctly. Another important fact is PRICE, I am fed up of getting ripped off in the high street stores, then being presented with a receipt that is unclear on pricing and needs a degree to decipher.

My Varifocal glasses arrived on 16th Dec, only 14 days after they were ordered and for the second year they are perfect. All my friends are amazed at the quality, cannot believe price I paid, or that they were delivered from Hong Kong so fast. I'll be back next year,
