Street Survey Says Wearing Glasses Makes You Up To 75% MORE Sexy to The Opposite Sex

By Chris (SelectSpecs) - December 16, 2011   |   Fashion, Survey, Tips & Advice   |   1 Comment

On the 23rd November 2011 we carried out a Street Survey to find out if wearing glasses changes the way people see you.  With photos of five different people (both with and without their glasses) we asked passers by to rate a selection of the images based on the following traits: -

  • Attractiveness
  • Intelligence
  • Trustworthiness
  • Employability
  • Sex Appeal

Even we were amazed by the results.

100% of the models were considered by the public to be sexier, more employable, trustworthy AND intelligent when wearing their specs.  But even more interestingly, our study found that it was men who benefited most from embracing their specs.

Women considered the male models on average 38% more attractive and 35% more intelligent when wearing glasses.  One male model was perceived as a whopping 75% sexier when seen in specs.  Men in general were considered to be 60% MORE SEXY by women.  With figures like that it seems like a no-brainer - If you want to turn heads, you've got to make a 'spectacle' of yourself.

Take a look at our video from the day (above) and see what people really had to say about glasses wearers.  Or bask in the glory of our study results from our Infographic below.

Holly Willoughby's new look?

The lovely Holly Willoughby donned these massive specs for a segment on the This Morning show with co-presenter Philip Schofield.  What do you think – Geek Chic or a bit Deirdre Barlow?

Deirdre Barlow, Sexy in specs? Probably not

Either way, there is still something very alluring about Holly Willoughby, despite the somewhat out-dated glasses.  Here she is seen on screen with Philip Schofield also in character with some "slightly" smaller rounder specs.
