Cheryl Cole, one of the girls from the successful girl group Girls Aloud, took to the stage last night to perform 2009s 4th best selling single and Brit nominated “Fight For This Love” at the 2010 Brit Awards wearing the Ray-Ban 3026 Aviator Sunglasses in ‘L2846 Arista’.
I deliberately used the word ‘perform‘ in place of ‘sing‘ as it was quite possibly one of the worse cases of miming I’ve ever witnessed, and for someone that sits amongst a panel of judges and criticises the singing performance of others on that talent show…

Here on the SelectSpecs blog we write a lot of posts about celebrity glasses but so far we’ve neglected their cartoon cousins. There have been so many awesome cartoon characters that wear specs over the years - here is our selection of some of the best ones that we’ll always remember with fond nostalgia…
1. Hans Moleman (The Simpsons)

Without doubt one of the funniest Simpsons characters, Hans Moleman’s awesome powers of feeble ineptitude undoubtedly stem from his super thick (and frankly pretty useless) goggle-eye glasses. The poor guy always seems to be…

Last year, the summer blockbuster that we were really looking forward to seeing had to be Transformers: Revenge of the fallen, not only for the curves of Megan Fox but also for the explosive action director Michael “I like to blow sh*t up” Bay tends to produce. This year, we at SelectSpecs.com are really looking forward to seeing the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster, Iron Man 2, staring Robert Downey Jr. as billionaire weapons inventor Tony Stark / Iron Man, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and Mickey Rourke as arch enemy Whiplash.

For those…

If like us you enjoyed the Bourne Trilogy you will no doubt be looking forward to the up coming military movie Green Zone which see’s director Paul Greengrass (Bourne Supremacy, Bourne Ultimatum, United 93) team up once again with Matt Damon for another action thriller which bears remarkable similarities to the Bourne series of films (that’s not such a bad thing!).

In the film, Matt Damon stars as Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller, a rogue U.S. Army officer who must hunt through covert and faulty intelligence hidden on foreign soil before war…

In a bid to give you an idea of all the latest and supposedly “fashionable” eye wear I’ve endured countless hours of aural & visual pain and discomfort while studying videos (and images) of 2010 Brit Nominee Lady Gaga, also known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta born March 28 1986. As you can probably tell, I’m not really a big fan of her manufactured pop-tastic music and find her slightly irritating as an artist - perhaps due to her appearance on Jonathan Ross in 2009 and her futuristic if not wild/crazy dress…

Recently released on DVD and Blu-Ray - The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 is the Tony Scott re-make of the classic 1974 movie starring Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw. The new movie stars Denzel Washington (Book of Eli) and John Travolta taking over the roles of the lead characters in this 21st Century update. Having only watched the 1974 version last Summer myself (and loving it), I decided it was about time I rented the new version of the film to see how it compared.

From the point of view of a blog about glasses, it…
