AW16 Colour Trends for Eyewear: Deep Earth Tones

colour trends AW16 earth tones fashion

Looking ahead to AW16-17, we take a sneak peek at what colours are going to be hot and how to style them with your favourite pair of sunglasses. Because even in the autumn or winter sun, it’s necessary to protect your eyes.

Me personally, I like to keep a pair of sunnies in my car at all times and another one in my Mulberry Bayswater because you never know when the sun might pop its head around the corner.

For AW16, popular colours are forecast to be deep, earthy and extremely sophisticated. I think these colours are wonderfully timeless too so they will last and last across the seasons.

I’ve fallen head over heels for these burnt, off colour hues. Here are three gorgeous colour trends and some great ways to style:

AW16 Colour #1 – Deep Burgundy

Burgundy seems to come back every year. It’s a trusty colour if you ask me. And it’s not just for the winter season either because a vampy red lip seems to work all year round.

Team the Celine CL 41097/S sunglasses from Select Specs with the classic Mulberry Bayswater in ‘Oxblood’ and you have a serious AW16 winner! Just don’t forget the red lippy.

AW16 Colour #2 – Olive Green

Olive green is so hot right now and it’s set to be a favourite for AW16-17. This khaki-esque green colour is earthy enough to be autumnal yet light enough to be summery, so there’s not a seasonal limit with this look.

Try teaming the Ralph Lauren Abby Tote in ‘Cargo Olive’ with these BRAND NEW Versace VE2171B sunglasses and you’ve got the perfect transitional palette.

AW16 Colour #3 – Dark Teal

Dark teal is a more melancholic or masculine take on normal teal, making it ideal for the autumn and winter months. Nonetheless, this hue still manages to pack a punch so accessorise wisely.

If you want to mix and match your blue hues, team the Dior DIORSIDERAL1 shades with the Victoria Beckham Tulip Tote and go for go for a dark / dirty blue for your nails.
