It’s Taylor Swift like you’ve never seen before (with dark hair – gasp!) Yes, that’s right, Tay has dropped her latest video for song “Wildest Dreams” and it’s got us all crazy to get her style all over again.
Not seen it yet? Well catch up fast and watch it below. Watched it? Good. Now we can start the style low-down on how to get Ms Swift’s look.
Taylor has always gone for the sort of vintage look, which we all adore and love and err, want to copy. So starting with the basics; red lipstick (check), red nails (check) and cat-eye liner (check!) But what can we do to up our retro feel?
We don’t want to necessarily bring back a safari vibe, like what Taylor’s doing here, but check out the pair of both sunnies on our heroine (Taylor, obs.) and even on that bloke too!
A pink, but transparent, cat eye frame? They remind us a lot of Kiss&Kill’s KK656S (seen below.) But pair them with a white shirt, summer dress or the like then you’ll definitely be channeling Taylor, who’s maybe channelling Elizabeth Taylor? We don’t know, but that’s our guess.
And okay, we can’t resist a good pair of classic aviators as much as the next fan, so not excluding Taylor’s love interest, we’d better add a similar model for him too. When it comes to classic aviators, you can’t go far wrong with a pair of Ray-Ban RB3044 Aviators, they like practically invented aviators in the first place and are totally unisex.
Up next is one of our favourites from the video – now, not all of us can look as glamorous in one of those old-school planes, in fact not many of us have even seen one of those old-school planes! But needless to say, Taylor owes some thanks or two to movie blockbuster Thelma & Louise for this one, right?
Don’t have a classy head scarf? Get a bandana tie instead, it doesn’t have to be polka dot because what really puts the cherry on top of her fifties feels is another pair of cat-eye sunglasses! Wider and more sharply cut as before, they’re also narrow in width, so we’ve picked the below Dolce & Gabbana DG4202 that bares a slight resemblance, but also because they have a pretty flower back to them too.
Et voila! Your Taylor Swift look book is complete. Lesson learnt here is to opt for classic vintage frames that Taylor seems to love both in and out of her music videos.
