Bifocals
These lenses contain two prescriptions, the upper part of the lens is generally used for distance vision, while the lower part is used for near vision. Bifocals do have a visible dividing line between the upper and lower sections of the lens.
Bifocals in general are very successful, however you should understand, there is a risk buying bifocal lenses online as we cannot take individual measurements. These measurements can be recorded in store free of charge.
R28 Round segment Bifocal
The shape of the reading segment of the lens is in the shape of a circle which is 28mm in diameter. Ideal for prescriptions with positive figures.
$40.25
D28 Flat Top Bifocal
These lenses are in the shape of the letter D with its flat side uppermost. The reading segment has a flat top and a curved bottom. These are the most common type of bifocal, they are extremely successful as the reading area is very stable.
$40.25
D35 Flat Top Bifocal
These lenses are in the shape of the letter D with its flat side uppermost. The reading segment has a flat top and a curved bottom. These lenses have a larger reading segment compared with the D28 bifocals, they are extremely successful as the reading area is very stable.
$46.96
Varifocals
Progressive or Varifocal lenses provide a smooth progression from distance correction to near correction. This eliminates segment lines, and also gives a third area of the lens. This intermediate vision area allows for clear vision at arms distance.
Progressives in general are not 100% successful either online or in store and you should understand there is a risk buying multi-focal lenses online as we cannot take individual measurements. Monocular PD measurements (a PD for each eye, for example 31/31) would be optimal, which can be entered at the next stage. These measurements can be taken free of charge in store.
Standard Varifocal
Ideal for new and familiar progressive lens wearers, this traditional design offers a wide distance zone for natural eye movement, coupled with a smooth progression to near vision. This lens design has medium peripheral distortion yet it relatively easy to adapt to.
$46.96
Freeform Varifocal
This optimum design provides tremendous clarity from distance through to near with minimal soft focus and incredible fast adaptation. Freeform, or direct, surfacing makes it possible to grind the front, back, or both sides of a lens as needed to produce sophisticated tailored lens designs.
