Tis’ the season to be….glammed up. That’s right, we’re right bang in the middle of awards season, meaning news and photos of celebrities dolled up to the max are all over the internet and social media for us to envy and drool over every other week.
Whilst us mere mortals will never be able to completely emulate the over the top looks celebs rock on the red carpet, glasses can be a great way to up your game and bring a little ‘extra’ to your outfit. True, we may not be able to afford those luxurious dresses or jewels, but glasses are a solid investment that can add towards developing a signature style that will allow you to stand out in your own unique way.
Here are some glasses inspired by the dresses and the celebrities that wore them during the 2017 awards season so far!
Claire Foy at the Golden Globes
Claire Foy dazzled at the Golden Globes earlier this year in a shimmery pink custom-made Erdem dress.
Rather conservative in style, but nonetheless the colour and sequins that covered the dress certainly assured that she shone both on the red carpet and on stage.
Like her dress, these Bvlgari BV2186 glasses are a sophisticated and poised addition to any outfit. The soft pink colour is similar to Claire’s couture Erdem dress, a colour much favoured this season by other stars on the red carpet. The classic cat-eye style frame are given a stylish contemporary twist with the blingy coloured panels on the top of the frame, a fashion forward modern addition to the classic 1960s frame.
Rihanna at the Grammys
Never one to back away from a bold fashion statement, Rihanna certainly stepped up to the challenge once again at this year’s Grammys!
All eyes were on her and her audacious choice- a bright orange sequin bralette and black ruffled skirt by Armani Prive. Just like her dare devil, eye-catching colour and dress choices, these Fendi FF 0065 glasses are a statement that simply cannot be ignored. Their stylish and fashionable round shape coupled with the bright colours on the frame make these glasses a striking accessory to any wardrobe. It’s simply impossible to take your eyes off these bold and colourful glasses!
Nicole Kidman at the BAFTAs
Always elegant, Nicole Kidman brought her A game to the BAFTAs with this gorgeous plunging halter Armani Prive black dress with a metallic bodice.
She truly sparkled and shone on the red carpet in this stunning figure hugging dress. Likewise, these Miu Miu MU 05PV glasses are fun yet elegant and feminine. These lenses mimic the poise and sophistication Nicole exuded on the red carpet.
A contrasting black frame, gold metal and gems assemble a lux design. In black, they are a classic fashion choice easily paired with any outfit, but for those who enjoy a touch more cheekiness and colour, the frames come in a cool transparent aqua like colour, and a see-through lilac that certainly stands out.
Adele at the Grammys
Evan Rachel Woods at the Golden Globes
At the 74th Annual Golden Globes Awards this year, actress Evan Rachel Woods decided to forego the usual glitzy and glamorous dress for a classic black suit.
The message was clear: you don’t have to wear a figure hugging dressed in order to be feminine, elegant, and above all, sexy.
Her custom Altuzarra silk pantsuit may not have suited everyone’s taste, but her soft curls and subtle pink lipstick brought a touch of classic feminine grace that pulled the look together.
These Dolce & Gabbana DG3247 glasses appear very masculine in their bold and thick black half-frame and shape. The sleek and classic frame, however, is contrasted with a colourful and floral pattern, which runs along the inside the frame. This subtle surprise reins in those bold features with a subtle touch of sexiness and colour.
