5 Ways To Wear Boots in Summer

Though it is more common to be wearing boots in winter or autumn, don’t limit yourself to the seasons. Boots can also work well in summer when built into an outfit.

Of course you would want to choose the outfit according to how “summery” the weather actually is (because lets face it, some days may just be rainy and boot-friendly by default).

Here are 5 great ways you can make use of your boots even when it’s not cold and rainy.

Dorothy Perkins grey marl tshirt dress, Sabine Getty yellow gold wave choker with tsavorite, Jerome Rousseau beaded ankle boots

This look centres around this amazing pair of ankle boots. The bright colours and geometric design are perfect for a summer event.

Additionally, they are not too thick and have a peep-toe, making them climate appropriate as well. The Sabine Getty choker mimics the geometric pattern in the shoes without taking away the attention.

Since the shoes are the focal point, the rest of the look is designed to be more neutral so as to draw the attention in the right direction.

Topshop stripe crop top, Jeffrey Campbell suede bootie, Lux skinny-jeans

Maybe it is the red and white, but this look feels like it would make the perfect outfit for strolling along the Champs-Elysee in Paris.

The look is sophisticated though not overly complicated. The red suede booties are bright and stylish, making them perfect for any occasion.

They can even work for a warmer day due to the ankle-length and the perforations, which will keep the shoe light and airy.

Pair this look with some Kate Spade ZIBA/S sunglasses and you will be ready to face the sunshine.

Timberland waterproof lace up boots, New Directions mint green gold dust statement necklace, Alice + Olivia Jacinda cropped cotton blend top, Forte Couture cropped blue shorts

Timberland lace-up boots are practical, just like the rest of this look. This look is not only comfortable, but perfect for a casual afternoon out.

If you do find yourself in a summer rain shower, you can count on these boots to keep your feet dry (wet feet are not fun).

Pastel and Layers

Dr. Martens vegan tie dye, Yoins open front elephant print kimono, H&M lime green crop top, Frame woman’s high light skinny crop jeans.

This fun look plays on colour, pattern and layers. Perhaps it is too much, but one of the great things about summer is that you can have a bit of fun with colour combinations and patterns and it won’t be out of place.

Of course if you find that this is too much patterns for you, you can swap out the elephant print kimono for a simple grey cardigan (or if it is sunny enough, avoid it altogether).

Black and Casual

Embroidered rose denim shorts with belt, Black Blue ladies statement shirt with capped sleeves, Coach Jackson bootie, Disney Beauty and the Beast rose bracelet

This is the perfect outfit when you’re looking for a quick look that is low maintenance. The casual look is stylish, but is perfect for a day of lounging.

Smack on a pair of  Dolce & Gabbana DG4277 sunglasses, and you will be good to go. These booties have a great heel height but at the same time are thick enough to be comfortable to walk in.

This look doesn’t even have to be limited to daytime, it can work for a casual evenings out as well.
