Another year, another Super Bowl Half Time performance that pulled out all the stops! Coldplay graced the pitch for Super Bowl 50 last night and was joined by Beyoncé and Bruno Mars – oh, what a medley.
If you’ve not seen it there’s tons of news sites where you can stream it all to your heart’s content. But, if you have seen it then you’ll know the raucous Bruno Mar’s outfit has caused since.
Some are calling them leather pyjamas, others are labelling it ‘Run DMC gone wrong’ – whatever you think you can’t deny Bruno is bringing 90’s right back, with the help of Versace.
Super Bowl 50
Versace have confirmed Bruno is dressed head-to-toe in custom Versace – which we’re guessing includes his retro sunglasses? Your guess is as good as ours though, as if you look at Versace’s recently released images from their Spring/Summer 2016 advertising campaign , which includes their new sunglasses collection modelled by Gigi Hadid, none of their new shades resemble the same shape or design Bruno wore last night.
Perhaps they’re yet to be released – it wouldn’t make sense for Bruno to wear all Versace from the neck down, but to then don a different brand of sunglasses entirely, right?
Whilst we wait for this pair to come, or not to come, into fruition the closest match we could find were the Ray-Ban RB3447 Round Metal sunglasses:
Best Male in Versace
This isn’t the first time Bruno rocked Versace either – back at the MTV Awards when he collected his Best Male Video award for Uptown Funk (what else?), he wore a classic Versace shirt and eyewear.
Congratulations to @brunomars who rocked a #Versace shirt and sunglasses as he accepted his #VMA for Best Male Video #VersaceCelebrities A photo posted by Versace (@versace_official) on
If you’re a fan of Versace and have a particular penchant for that unmissable Greek key detailing, it certainly hasn’t been left from their VE4296 model – which might explain why Bruno loves them so much too!
In fact, I’d say it’s the chunky gold Greek key detailing arm that makes this model so distinguished, that and it’s almost as if they’ve been transported straight from the 90’s – what would Run DMC think?
