Disney Princess Inspired Fashion

Fairytales don’t exist, neither do prince charmings, but the fashion that’s in said fairytales does. So let’s live vicariously through our attire, shall we?

Here are some Disney princess inspired ensembles that will have you whistling while you work and living out a musical, even if it’s just in your head.

Glass slippers aside, this look is all about periwinkle blue and oodles of elegance.

Hair up, a chignon is always a good idea.

A simple dark choker, and as with all princess inspired fashion, you can never have too much glitter, or frills.

Keep makeup simple with an emphasis on eyes, with cat eye liner and lashes for days, and you’re all set.

Add a pair of specs in the perfect shade of blue to spot your prince charming from afar.

Pocahontas

The bohemian princess if ever there was one, feathers, natural gemstones and faux suede all fit into this theme well.

A colour palette of earthy tones and turquoise, Aztec inspired prints and a dream catcher or two only add authenticity to your Pocahontas inspired style.

A faux suede crop top in camel paired with distressed denim and an Aztec print kimono or cardigan as a cover up or in case it gets chilly and you’re all set.

Throw on a pair of Ray-Bans with a woven texture if you’re expecting sunshine, and your boho dream is ready.

Belle

The it princess of the moment, be the belle of the ball, in tones of blue and white, accessorized with pops of yellow, a bow in your hair and a book in your hand.

A flared skirt is a great option, the yellow sunnies below will help you appear aloof when your Mr. right approaches.

A little glamour and a lot of extravagance, bring on the Oriental flavours in mints and golds, think flowing, floaty fabrics with golden embellishments.

A bib necklace and hair or head adornments and again, emphasis on eyes with an overdone cat flick and a pair of sunglasses that bring in jade and a little mystique.

Mulan

The epitome of female empowerment in a Disney princess, bring on the girl power in shades of violet and a flowing mane, a cinched waist and a flowing kimono to add a layered effect, this look is simple yet effective.

Keep accessories to a minimum, but don some purple specs, for all your martial arts precision.

Snow White

The quiet seductress, contrasts and bright colours are key pieces to this look.

A signature red lip, electric blue, yellow and forest inspired accessories from fruit to foliage.

An hourglass emphasizing silhouette, cinched at the waist and pleated near the hips to accentuate curves, mirror the red lip in the red specs below and you’re dressed to impress, just steer clear of suspicious looking fruit.

Merida

A fiery personality to suit the unruly head of hair, and shades of teal and checks and gingham for days, this look has a cozy feel to it, so think “lived in” chic, layers and comfort.

A pair of glasses in the chosen colour will help out when aiming your bow.

Ariel

Everybody’s favourite mermaid, you can go with the classic colours of green and purple, with shell and sea life accessories or opt for the more classic shades of blue with bows and a subtle nautical theme.

Add some sunnies to take in the sea air without damaging your peepers.
