One of the easiest ways to make a dress instantly cold-weather friendly is through the addition of a pair of tights.

Black tights are one of the easiest styles to wear, as black obviously goes with pretty much anything.

If your dress is plain, you could also wear some tights which feature a pattern or texture, to give your outfit some added interest.

2. Layer a Top Underneath

You could simply layer a long or short sleeve top underneath your dress to make it instantly warmer without taking away from the shape or pattern of the dress.

Not only is this super practical and easy to do, it also looks really cute as well.

Try layering a plain white t-shirt underneath a pinafore dress for example, for that gorgeous ‘preppy’ look.

3. Grab a Camo Jacket

Khaki camouflage jackets are so in-vogue at the moment, and add a certain level of ‘cool’ to any outfit.

They are a great option to wear with super girly or feminine style dresses, as they offer a great contrast to these pieces and ‘toughen’ them up!

Go for an oversized jacket like Estee here for super comfortable and cosy chic.

4. A Biker Jacket

Felt like wearing a bit of colour today 💘

Biker jackets are one of those classic wardrobe staples which every stylish lady should have in their wardrobe.

Black leather biker jackets are the classic choice, but here Estee proves how gorgeous jackets of other colours look too.

Cropped biker jackets are also super flattering as they finish just on your waist, meaning they cinch you in.

5. Layer With a Cardi

This is a super cute and feminine way to make any summer dresser just that little bit warmer.

Cardigan are great as you can choose whether to wear them open or closed.

They also come in some many different styles – cropped, hip length, maxi, and bolero style.

Josie’s pretty cardigan here features some beautiful lace detailing, which adds some gorgeous interest to the look.

Grab Josie’s sunglasses style with the Ray-Ban RB4258.

These classic sunnies feature a feminine wayfarer style and tortoise shell print, making them universally flattering and trendy.

6. Pop On a Gilet

A fab and slightly different way to make your summery outfit warmer is to add a gilet.

Gilets are basically sleeveless jackets or cardigans which are fantastic at keeping your body warm.

You can get simple plain knit gilets or you can buy slightly more decorative ones, such as Amelia’s fur gilet here.

They are fab layered especially over long sleeve dresses.
