The Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team recently announced that they will be partnering with Hugo Boss from 1st January 2015, ending Hugo Boss’ three decade long relationship with McLaren (since 1981).
Mercedes stated their reasons as…
With Mercedes-Benz and Hugo Boss formally intensifying their existing co-operations earlier this year, extending the partnership into the brand’s Formula One team was a logical progression.
Hugo Boss will no longer keep Jenson Button kitted out in their latest designer clobber – they will instead supply the finest team clothing for Britain’s Lewis Hamilton and Germany’s Nico Rosberg, while Hugo Boss branding will appear on the Formula 1 race cars.
This move was widely expected due to Hugo Boss’ close ties with the German car manufacturer and that McLaren are moving to a new engine supplier, Honda, from 2015.
