Reality Star Turned Designer: Lauren Conrad

Following five successful seasons, she left the show to pursue a career in fashion. With her educational background in design and merchandising, she launched LC Lauren Conrad in partnership with Kohl.

The first collection drew inspiration from Disney characters such as Bambi and Minnie Mouse.

Launching her fashion line, Paper Crown (a collection of fashion-forward bridesmaid dresses) and a popular Kohl’s line, LC by Lauren Conrad cemented her new role as a fashion designer.

She co-founded The Little Market: an online platform like a fair trade shop that distributes handmade pieces from women of varying cultural backgrounds.

It’s an independent, nonprofit and charitable organization whose aim is to empower women.

Mrs. Conrad owns a lifestyle website LaurenConrad.com.

It features everything from fashion and beauty to home decor and etiquette.

She’s authored nine books.

They are a combination of fashion and beauty books plus young adult novels.

One of her books L.A. Candy became a New York Times best seller.

To celebrate this talented reality star turned designer, we’re taking a look at some of LC’s best looks from over the years.

Perfect Outdoor Party

On a hot sunny day, a free flowing dress works best. F

or a defined waistline, just go for the belt.

Playing with textures is another way to have fun with fashion.

Here you’ve got biker style jacket paired with midi crochet dress.

The combination works so well.

Wear the dress during the day, and when it’s cold in the evening, put the jacket on.

The White and black combination is always striking.

To complete the look, add a neutral tone clutch bag with oversized round sunglasses.

The Twenties’ Style Scene

Looking at this glitzy dress is like going back in time.

It’s the perfect flapper dress for attending social events like a 1920s theme party, as a bridesmaid or guest at a wedding, or any other parties that call for glitz and glamour.

The tiered lace dress is a flirty little number that’s delicate and feminine.

Backyard Party Dress

Dressing for a summer party takes little effort and minimal layering if any at all.

So what’s your style motto?

Is it a comfortable dress that’s not too tight?

Sandals or slides?

Sunglasses just to show how chic you are, and to take photos, of course?

Whatever it is, remember to have fun!

And if you are feeling summery, why not add a floral piece in your hair?
