Summer has just about started with spells of sunshine, hints of burnt skin and lots of day-drinking and people-watching.
With the weather being so wonderful, it would be a shame not to make the most of it (while it lasts).
Here are 5 places in London you can enjoy the sunshine, the views, and also some cold beverages. Remember to pack in some sunscreen if you will be lounging in the sunshine.
Radio Rooftop Bar
Radio Rooftop Bar in London is the ideal balance between style and necessity. Of course, being in the heart of London, and the brand aligning with a more upmarket vibe, it can be a little pricey.
That being said, the views are great, and they do have snacks available as well if you are peckish.
Due to the popularity of the place, either arrive a bit early or better still, make a reservation to ensure you do not have to wait in queue. Also – dress to impress.
Culpepper Roof Garden
I’m not sure if there is anything cooler than herb gardens. The Culpepper Rooftop Garden has a much more chilled out vibe and is not as high-maintenance as some of the other bars in London.
That being said, you would still enjoy the views and also have the opportunity to grab something to eat at their restaurant.
Seems like a win-win right? I can only imagine that the rooftop garden would get pretty busy during a sunny day, so like most places in London, do make a reservation – it will save you the hassle of waiting around.
Sushisamba is probably one of the more well known rooftop bars, so apologies for stating the obvious.
That being said, the views are good, and so is the food. This is a place where afternoon drinks can easily slip into late night cocktails.
If you will be spending time here, be prepared with a look that works through the course of the evening. Try on a pair of JIMMY CHOO JADE/S to keep your look classy but also to keep your eyes protected.
With a navy blue outfit (and a hint of floral pattern) your look will be summer-proof but also will match well with the crowd and ambience at Sushisamba.

The Aviary London
Looks like a pretty sweet Saturday plan to us! In as much as the Aviary would be a great place for after-work drinks, the vibe and style tempts me more for a Sunday lunch.
The views are amazing, as expected, but they do also serve a great menu. This place is time-proof.
Granted that Frank’s beer garden isn’t technically a rooftop bar as such, but it is a great alternative if you are looking for something more down-to-earth.
Did you know it is situated in a carpark complex? This place is far more casual than the others so if you’re looking for a more relaxed crowd, try this place out.
As for how to protect your eyes from the glare, you won’t go wrong with a pair of Ray-Ban RB2140 Original Wayfarer, after all, it is summer – and it can get hot. Also a bonus point: it is a dog friendly location.
Regardless of how and where you decide to spend your sunny afternoons and evenings, be smart and keep your skin protected.
The great thing about London is that there are places that can suit anyones needs – be it a upmarket sky lounge or a more affordable beer garden. And if all else fails, there is always a picnic in the park.
