Wrecking balls were never quite the same after Miley Cyrus’ iconic 2014 music video. It marked an era of controversy for the country-turned-pop singer – twerking, bleach-blonde cropped hair and a fashion style as unpredictable as her performances all presided.
It was a departure from a more squeaky clean Miley we were used to seeing from her Hannah Montana days, or even her edgier Can’t Be Tamed era – long gone were the long brown locks and Disney-approved bubblegum-pop outfits.
This was a Miley with a message of defiance and rebellion, and, whether you loved or loathed it, hers was the name on everyone’s lips.
Fast forward 3 years then, and it’s a different story again for the We Can’t Stop singer.
She has literally grown out of her bleach blonde hair, now sporting a shoulder length ombre style, and has swapped her flamboyant fashion for an understated bohemian vibe that harks back to her country roots.
The release of Malibu, the guitar driven ode to beau Liam Hemsworth, marks another departure creatively for the singer.
There are no eyebrow raising lyrics here, but rather a softer vibe that goes hand-in-hand with her recent appearances.
Join us as we explore Miley’s most recent style transformation, and how you can steal her style.
Could the above shot scream ‘lazy summer’s afternoon’ any louder?
The rolling fields, the gorgeous white dress, the sunshine drenched glow – it’s safe to say we’re loving the pastoral aesthetic of Miley’s recent Malibu era.
We adore the dress pictured above.
From a distance, the ivory ensemble could almost be two separates, but instead the gorgeous ruffle-sleeved crop-top meets the skirt with a beautifully delicate, sheer bodice.
The intricate tailoring is the showstopper here, and Miley doesn’t detract with any jewellery or accessories.
We also get a first look at her luscious new locks – the perfect length for warmer days.
Appearing alongside Ariana Grande for the One Love Manchester benefit concert, Miley kept things casual for her performance.
Dressed in denim hot pants, plain white tee and a gorgeous shimmery shawl, the singer dazzled fans around the world who had tuned in to support the charity support.
Miley’s jewellery here is beautifully boho – with the layered necklaces, ear cuffs and chunky rings, we’re getting serious summer festival vibes.
Miley is seriously rocking the cowgirl vibe in the above shot.
Complete with tan cowboy boots, denim hot pants and sleeveless white shirt, the singer is hinting at a return to her roots.
We’re loving her playful messy ponytails here too, showing off perfectly her new ombre locks.
The red neckerchief is a great addition here too – a classic country look.
Rocking the inescapable pastel pink trend, Miley extends her pastoral aesthetic in the above shot.
Her frilly dress features cute ruffles, a flattering drawn in tied waist and deep plunging neckline.
We love her subtle gold ear cuff on show here too – a great example of understated jewellery often making a bigger impact.
As a vocal ally and advocate for LGBT rights, Miley is never afraid to demonstrate her support for the community.
The singer is seen celebrating Pride in her own inimitable style in the above shot – with a chunky rainbow necklace, hair tassels and face stickers.
She is definitely embodying the spirit of the event.
We adore her playful pastel pink shades here too.
And, while hers may be embellished in true Miley fashion, we reckon the Kate Spade LORELLE/S is a great place to start:
