Ah, The New Forest. Located in the South of England, this beautiful mixture of heathland, pastureland and forest has been drawing tourists to enjoy its sites for centuries. The area it actually covers is vast, at 571 square kilometers. There really is something for everyone to enjoy. It is the perfect location for a family holiday, romantic weekend break or even just a quick day trip.

Have a look below to see our recommendations on the best places to visit, things to see and things to do.

1. Beaulieu National Motor Museum

If you’re interested in cars or motorcycles (old and new), then a visit to the Beaulieu National Motor Museum is a must.

Located in the beautiful village of Beaulieu, this incredible place is crammed full of some of the oldest and most stunning cars in the world.

It is also home to a Top Gear exhibition, with some of the actual cars and experiments used in the BBC program. There is a great cafe, a mono rail and even a gorgeous 13th Century Cistercian Abbey which you can visit (see the picture below).

If this wasn’t enough, then you can also visit Palace House which is on the same site. This is where top secret agents were trained during the Second World War, before they were deployed as spies.
