6 Recipes For Avocado Lovers

Avocados are all the rage at the moment. They have become famous for their high levels of Omega-3, potassium, magnesium and various different vitamins and other minerals.

Fifteen years ago, the majority of people wouldn’t have even seen an avocado let alone tasted one, but now there are so many different recipes available which use this yummy fruit.

Yes, they are technically a fruit even given their savory taste.

We have put together some of our favourite recipes using avocados – enjoy!


1. Avocado Breakfast Bagel

The perfect recipe to create for breakfast or brunch, the avocado breakfast bagel is going to make you want to jump out of bed and head to the kitchen.

Simply combine one mashed up avocado with some lime juice, salt and pepper.

Hard boil an egg, slice a tomato, and layer up inside a seeded bagel.

This has everything you need in it to get your day off to a great start.

Plus, you could easily wrap it up and take it to work with you.

2. Avocado Fries

This one sounds weird, but tastes absolutely amazing.

They are the perfect lower fat alternative to traditional potato fries, and taste a whole lot nicer.

Contrary to the name, they’re not actually fried, but baked.

Simply slice up an under-ripe avocado, dip in some flour, egg and then bread crumbs.

Spritz over some olive oil and bake for 10 minutes on each side in an oven at 180 degrees fan.

Sprinkle over some salt and pepper and enjoy.

3. Avocado Smoothie

We all love a good smoothie, and this one is pretty spectacular.

The avocado provides the smoothie with a rich creaminess which easily replaces the need for any milk, making this great for vegans or those with dairy intolerance.

Whizz together one avocado, one mango and 200mls of coconut water.

Taste, and then flavour with honey depending on how sweet you like it.

4. Avocado Pasta

This is one of my personal favourites.

Whizzed up avocado is a great thing to use as a pasta sauce – it is super creamy and delicious, plus really good for you.

Mix avocado, salt, pepper, chili flakes and the zest of one lemon together, and stir through cooked pasta.

Drizzle with olive oil and top with whatever you fancy – crispy bacon is great.

5. Avocado Cheesecake

An avocado cheesecake is a thing of beauty, and is substantially more healthy than one made from cream cheese.

We particularly love this recipe from Hemlsey and Hemsley, which uses lime, coconut oil, and pecans to create a truly yummy desert.

6. Tacos with Guacamole

Tacos are the ultimate Mexican food, and are super easy to make at home.

You can either make your tacos meaty with beef or pork or use vegetables or beans to make a vegetarian alternative.

Season with cumin and smoked paprika for a super yummy dinner.

Top your taco with some guacamole – mix up avocado, salt, pepper, lime and olive oil.
