Everyone’s eyes were glued to the catwalk during London Fashion Week over some attention grabbing footwear. And now high street stores are stocking these statement shoes just for us.
From zebra stripes to floral print, there are so many different styles to step into this season. But with so much going on with your footwear, what else do you wear to avoid those clashing headaches?
Let’s start with the much-loved Doc Martens. These chunky boots come in an array of different colours and styles. In particular, I’m loving these floral ones which are the perfect edgy addition to your spring look.
With these, I’d throw on a plain blouse and super-skinny jeans, sticking to pale, block colours such as baby blue or pastel pink.
This will keep the outfit looking fresh without drawing attention away from the boots. If it’s the vintage style you’re going for, then simply add a pair of oval glasses and bomber jacket to top it off.
These tortoiseshell frames, for example, would go great; they’re quirky and original – just like those Doc Martens!
For a different take on the vintage look, take a peek at these backless mules.
The William Morris-esque print is gorgeous and unexpectedly paired with gold bar detailing.
Being backless, these would be fab for sunnier days; I would wear them casually with a pair of boyfriend jeans, or dress them up with a midi-skirt.
As the centrepiece of your outfit, these shoes should be worn with plain clothes. Perhaps a light purple top to bring out the colour.
Want to really stand out?
A pair of zebra-print peep-toe mules will surely turn heads. These heeled shoes are of a similar style to those above, but can be worn completely differently.
From Topshop, these mules are daring in design and I think they’d look great with a thick jumper layered over culottes. Why not bring out a zebra-striped clutch bag, too? This would bring the outfit together nicely without going OTT.
River Island haven’t failed to impress with these sparkly boots.
Their caption says it all; ‘shoes made to show off’, and they’re not wrong.
Again, that floral pattern is back and made with sequins. And what’s not to love?
All for an affordable price of £75 – you won’t get that from the catwalk! Roll up your jeans to highlight your footwear and welcome a few sparkly accessories if a night out is on the cards.
Since the autumn of 2016, these metallic boots have been spotted everywhere.
I especially love how blogger Samira Sedighan wears them – with a navy shift dress and bag to compliment her gold jewellery. But really, those boots are taking centre stage.
They’re on the high street too – New Look’s version have a block heel, giving off a ‘chunkier’ look.
Keep the rest of your outfit simple; again, you don’t want to steal away from these eye-catching silver boots.
This outfit would look great with a pair of sunglasses – after all, you’re going to need them when they catch the sunlight!
Take these Kate Spade aviators; they’d look quirky and add to that space-style look.
