Top Tartan Looks For Autumn ’17

If there was any material perfect for Autumn, it would undoubtedly be tartan.

This fabric comes in a huge variety of colours and originates as the traditional symbolic dress of Scotland.

Tartan is used for shirts, skirts, jackets, and even handbags.

With many tartan pieces being created from wool, it is exceptionally warm and durable, making it the perfect choice for the chilly, frosty months!

We have put together our favourite tartan looks into this guide to give you some inspiration.

Which is your favourite?

@Tokyofashion

This super cute look is a fun nod towards the traditional tartan skirt but brings it right up to date.

Akari looks gorgeous in this high waisted tartan skirt, knee high socks and pale pink collared shirt.

We adore the little tartan detailing on the collar of the shirt too – so cute!

The bright pink cap adds a fun pop of colour to the look whilst the black heels pick out the colours in the tartan.

The tartan print looks fabulous worn as an oversized shirt for casual days.

We love how Heather has tucked her shirt into some high waisted ripped jeans to create a super laid back but stylish look.

This would be a great outfit for wearing in the Autumnal sun when it is not too hot or too cold!

By adding some accessories through the sunglasses and earrings, Heather has added some extra chic to the simple look.

Steal her sunglasses with the Ray-Ban RB2140 Original Wayfarer (Polarized).

These classic sunnies are a timeless investment – we adore the wayfarer design and black frames.

Everyone needs a nice, warm coat for Autumn and Winter.

Why not have a look at investing in a gorgeous tartan coat such as Angeles’ above?

This tartan coat makes this whole look really stand out, and really is a gorgeous statement piece.

It looks great teamed with some simple ankle length jeans, lace up trainers, and that cute black trilby hat.

The key with wearing tartan is to make sure that the rest of your outfit is relatively simple.

You don’t want to wear too many colours or patterns, as your outfit will quickly become confused.

If you are a little nervous about branching into the tartan trend, then you could simply accessorise with it.

Tartan scarves are a fabulous item to have in your wardrobe for Autumn.

You could use one to jazz up a plain coat, or simply throw it over a chunky knit jumper for a little extra warmth.

Jo’s wears a simple monochrome outfit here and adds a pop of colour with her gorgeous red tartan scarf.

So simple, but it works so well!

How pretty is this green and red tartan dress Kolonaki is wearing?

Dresses are a fabulous choice for Autumn, as you can either wear them with tights and boots when it is a bit chilly, or team with some sandals if the sun decides to make an appearance!

You could easily dress this look up with a structured leather handbag, some gorgeous sunglasses and perhaps a gold necklace.
