When it comes to choosing a pair of shades, knowing what shape your face is will be paramount to find your perfect glasses. Have a look at my previous post where you can easily find out what your face shape is. Pay attention as it isn’t as easy as it seems!
I’m going to look at oval faces today and will feature some awesome frames which will definitely turn heads! Oval faces have gently rounded and even features and oval is considered to be the perfect face shape when it comes to wearing glasses.
Who has an oval face shape?
Charlize Theron, Eva Mendes and Kate Middleton.
Since face proportions are balanced, the vast majority of frames will suit lucky oval face-shaped people. Just be wary of sunglasses that are too big; huge frames will only block out your pretty features. It is best for you to choose frames which cover the face from the eyebrows to the cheekbones. To name just two styles, the cat-eye design and the classic aviators will both look great on you.
With the perfect face type, you can surely afford to wear striking sunglasses and the MO748S by Moschino won’t leave anyone indifferent. I’d go for the red ones as I think they are simply beautiful, but with four different colours to choose from you are sure to find the right one for you.
Ray-Ban RB4171 ERIKA
OK, these aren’t the usual aviators by Ray-Ban but since you are lucky enough to have an oval face, I’m sure you can dare to wear a pair of unusual but stunning sunglasses. The RB4171 Erika are also suitable for prescription glasses and available in three different colours, just over £80!
Marc by Marc Jacobs
This fabulous pair of sunglasses by Marc Jacobs makes a nice change from the aviators and will still make you look a real fashionista. More rectangular than the classic aviators and six different fascinating colours to choose from -with a price tag of only £75, you can certainly afford to buy two or three to match any outfit.
These nerdy looking sunglasses go perfectly with any vintage outfit. The Gucci 1627/S are big but not huge and will highlight the pretty features of an oval-shaped face. Also suitable for prescription lenses and available in black, just in case the havana is a bit too much for you.
I’ll look at more face types in the future but in the meantime, I’d love to hear from you about your favourite styles for your face shape! Please send us your pictures or tag us @SelectSpecs on Twitter and Instagram.
