Top 5 Smaller Festivals in The UK & Europe

It is now officially festival season here in the UK. Many different music events are taking place this summer, but smaller festivals are not usually known about or recognized within the Reading/Leeds and Glastonbury society of today.

Despite common knowledge, there are plenty of awesome, but smaller festival type events to check out and discover that often get overlooked.

These include the likes of Wilderness, End of the Road and Victorious.

If you are dying to uncover some smaller, low-key festivals, then keep on reading.

Here are some of the best festivals within UK and Europe which are just as incredible as the popular events that we all know and love.

1. Wilderness Festival

The first festival to check out is Wilderness Festival.

It is an indie music event which is on from August 3rd – 6th in 2017 at Cornbury Park in Oxfordshire.

There are some corking headliners this year including the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and Bonobo.

Other awesome acts playing during the event are First Aid Kit, Aurora, The Ska Vengers and Bao.

What a cracking line up ahead.

Of course music isn’t the only thing on offer to festival-goers.

There is a varied range of food and drink options available for the duration of the event as well as live talks, theatrical performances and interactive workshops – a great event for sure.

2. Helene Beach Festival

Helene Beach Festival is an electronic/hip-hop music event which takes place from the 27th – 30th July 2017.

It is located in Frankfurt, Germany.

With over 120 acts featured on 8 stages, it is definitely more than worth the money to attend.

The line-up for this year’s event looks incredible.

Acts such as Bebetta, Freaktekk, Noize, and Sero are expected to perform at Helene Beach in 2017.

3. End of the Road Festival

This has to be one of the prettiest settings for a festival event.

The above shot was taken from the End of the Road Festival located in Larmer Tree Gardens, Salisbury.

Taking place from the 31st of August to the 3rd of September 2017.

A rock, pop and blues event hosting some big names from the industry this year including Mac Demarco, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Car Seat Headrest and Marika Hackman – well worth seeing.

4. Wilde Mohre Festival

Next up is the Wilde Mohre Festival which is held in Drebkau, Germany.

This year’s event is running between the 10th-13th August 2017.

This festival has something for everyone.

Featuring varied music acts, one-to-one/group yoga sessions, live lecturesm and film screenings throughout the duration of the festival.

Some of the live bands performing this year include the likes of Joy Wellboy, Vimes, ETNA and Lion Sphere, which will definitely suit a wide range of varied musical tastes.

This looks to be a unique and intriguing event which everyone should get a taste of in 2017.

5. Victorious Festival

This shot is taken from our final featured festival, Victorious.

This is primarily considered to be a rock, pop and ska music event which is held at Southsea’s Seafront between the 25-27th August 2017.

Several acts have already been announced to play at this year’s event.

Big names such as ska group Madness, Sundara Karma and Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club are due to perform at Victorious at the end of next month.

Other acts confirmed include the likes of Stereophonics, Rita Ora, Olly Murs, Frank Turner and Maximo Park just to name a few.
