Top Cooking Shows On TV Today

Thanks to baking shows such as Great British Bake Off (GBBO), most people think that they could easily be the next Betty Crocker or Martha Stewart.

But what is it about cooking shows that draw in viewers by the millions?

Perhaps it’s the idea that food does bring comfort.

You feel empowered recreating something that you’ve watched with hope; that a fantasy menu actually becomes reality.

Maybe what people find appealing is the idea of using ingredients to create food that sounds sophisticated such as “I’ve just made vanilla sponge cake infused with Sicilian lemon.”

To others, baking is SEXY.

People these days like getting involved in cooking by getting their hands dirty, and hoping that the result is something magical.

Just in case you’re hearing about Cake Boss for the first time, you need to watch him on TLC via your cable provider.

Some of the odd requests Cake Boss received were to make a chair shaped cake for a furniture based business, and a 3D model of a bi-plane for a children’s hospital.

Cake Boss is an extension of a family business called CARLOS Bakery that dates back more than 100 years.

Mr Buddy’s cake designs have appeared in bridal publications such as The Knot and Modern Bride.

His cake was voted the best cake in America by the Today Show’s viewers.

Paul Hollywood

As one of the co-judges from (GBBO), Paul gets to taste all the pastries before giving his final blessing, shall we say.

What started as working in his father’s bakery shop led him to become the Head Baker working at different hotels both in the UK and abroad.

He cohosts the spin offs from GBBO, known as Junior Bake Off and the US version: The American Baking Competition.

An artisan baker who created one of the UK’s most expensive bread: a Roquefort and almond sourdough, selling for £15 a loaf at Harrods.
