Probably one of the most predictable cities in this list, London has a fantastic reputation for fashion.
It is home to London Fashion Week twice a year in February and September, which draws in trendsetting crowds and top designers from around the world. London is placed in the same league as the big players Milan, Paris and New York when it comes to fashion, and for a good reason.
London is also hugely famous for its ‘street-style’, and a quick jaunt down Carnaby Street or around Camden Market will show you some pretty trendy people.
These areas are particularly famous for their vintage fashion, shops and markets. With some careful shopping you will be able to pick up some awesome retro finds.
If you love high-street fashion, then be sure to visit the second busiest retail street in Europe – Oxford Street. Here you will find numerous flag-ship stores for the likes of Topshop, River Island and Zara, plus huge department stores such as Selfridges and John Lewis.
Manchester has gone under significant commercial development over recent years, which has resulted in the city becoming famous for its wealth of shops, businesses, and restaurants. With all this redevelopment, the city has really grown in the style-stakes.
The city is home to the Manchester Fashion Institute, a department of the Manchester Metropolitan University, which nurtures and encourages fashion innovation and talent. The Institute also puts on their own Fashion Week, in May of each year.
Manchester is a great place to shop for designer, high-street and also vintage fashion pieces. It really is a shopping haven, with several huge retail centers such as the Trafford Centre and the Arndale Centre.
The vibe is very much like London, but as a smaller city is very much more relaxed.
Located in the South-West of England, close to the border of Wales, Bristol is a beautiful city with a rich industrial heritage and a fun, exciting vibe. It is a city of contrasts, with the bustling commercial city centre and dockyard being only a short walk away from the picturesque and quieter Clifton and its surrounding green spaces.
It is known as the shopping capital of the south-west, with the Shopping Quarter and Cabot Circus dominating the high-street fashion scene. The beautiful Clifton Village, on the other hand, is known for higher-end shopping and independent designers.
Be sure not to miss Bristol Fashion Week at the end of March each year too. It is held in the Mall at Cribbs Causeway.
Brighton is a gorgeous seaside town, located on the south coast of England. With its own shingle beach, amusement arcades and beautiful Recency buildings, this fashion hotspot is a fantastic location for a mini-break or holiday.
Famous for its creative and artistic style, Brighton is home to a wealth of independent and vintage fashion boutiques. Take a stroll around ‘The Lanes’, the twisting alleyways which house hundreds of quirky shops, cafes and restaurants, before enjoying an ice cream on the beautiful beach.
