I’m not talking about frilly skirts or daffodil hats, but we all need some inspiration when it comes to dressing up for a lovely Sunday brunch. This time of year marks spring, so look for floral patterns and swishy dresses – perfect for when the weather heats up.
Here are some of our top outfit inspirations for this social & taste bud tantalizing meal of the day.
Who said brunch has to be all about dresses & heels?
These cream colored sneakers have a touch of bold metallic detail, and are perfect for your Sunday stroll to a nearby cafe. Pair with comfy pants or a pretty, flowy dress for the ultimate style combo.
To complete the look, I’d swing on a thin jacket and match my glasses with frames like these below. The white frame on these Hallmark specs would bring out the paler colors in any outfit. As they’re oversized, they’d sit well with a patterned or vintage dress.
Keeping in line with comfort, this romper would be great if the weather starts to heat up.
The sleeveless top will keep the sun on your shoulders, and you could always throw on a cardigan for aircon blasting rooms indoors. I particularly like how the pockets give it a more casual & easygoing look.
I’ve always loved the pairing of rompers with aviator frames. This outfit is island chic with a modern twist. Pair with Levi frames; a light and simple design as to not to distract from your wardrobe.
The most common color at spring time is yellow. Representative of the sprouting daffodils, new-born chicks and sunnier days, this color is perfect for a sunny brunch.
Model Shanina Shaik has got it spot-on with this floral, maxi slit dress. The sexy cut and breezy design would look great with a pair of loafers.
These Hallmark specs are lightweight and the tortoiseshell edges would add a quirky feel to the look. Rounded frames in particular would suit this outfit as it would soften the angles of the dress.
Pretty in Pink
This long-sleeved jacket from MinkPink is perfect for when the weather isn’t exactly up to par with summertime expectations. The pretty pink hue keeps it the central focus of your look.
Pastel pink is also a popular color to wear during spring.
Pair with oversized sunglasses to add vintage style. If you want to try out this look for yourself, these Michael Kors sunnies would look beautiful; the pale frame matches the colors in the outfit and the marble-y effect is quirky yet feminine.
Finally, staying with springtime colors, this pretty top on model Ashley Moore has a simplistic tropic pattern. The sleeveless look is perfect for warm weather. When styling this look, stick to pastel colors – anything too bright may clash.
Great for the poolside too, this look will take you right through summer. And don’t forget those sunnies! Cat-eye specs would co-ordinate perfectly with this look. This pair, for example, would be perfect – especially with the dusky color of the frames.
