Good value - but confusion over the order
These were the second pair of prescription glasses I've ordered from Selectspecs. The first were £10 specials, just to see what they were like. I'm wearing them now. Style-free, but I can see the computer screen at last.
So I thought I'd upgrade my specs, so I looked less of a spectacle on Skype... But the glasses that came back were for long sight, not intermediates.
A long call to their helpline promised action. Then an email arrived to say I'd made a mistake and they would have to charge me to put it right. All I asked for was a repeat prescription... So another email to explain again and more delays.
The glasses eventually arrived back with the correct lenses this time... but the arms are so long they keep slipping. And the colour is closer to black than gunmetal.
So here's the thing: good value, without a doubt, but there's always a risk buying anything sight unseen. The product could turn out to be different from the photo, and the communication is down to emails and tick-boxes - pretty blunt instruments compared with talking your needs through, face-to-face. And that's a problem you wouldn't have shopping in the high street.
Of course I could send them back - again - but that would mean even more delays. So they'll do. Just.

Good Office Varifocals
I bought these specifically for computer use having used so called "office varifocals" previously. I was slightly concerned at ordering varifocals online, but no need to worry these work very well. So well in fact that I now have the confidence to order some full varifocals for general use. Good work and thanks SelectSpecs.

Finding the correct frame size to suit you requires you to know a little about the different measurements that are used. Size information is normally broken down in to arm / temple length (ranges between 120 - 150mm), bridge width (ranges between 14 - 24mm, and lens width (ranges between 40 - 62mm). We also include a frame height measurement where possible, this can vary depending on frame style.
If you require further help, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team on 03303 801 190 (Mon - Fri, 9am - 17.30pm) for further assistance.
If you have a pair of glasses that are a perfect fit, you can usually find the frame size information on the frame - usually on the arm or the bridge.
What to look for?
You will often find a variety of information on the frame, including model number, branding and frame sizing. The numbers you are looking for will be similar to this format 150 - 22 - 50 although this can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. These numbers provide the following information:-
150 - Arm / temple size (in mm), a 3 digit value normally ranging from 120 - 150.
22 - Bridge size (in mm), a 2 digit value normally ranging from 14 - 24.
