  Very happy customer

5th September 2017

Extremely happy with product and excellent service from Selectspecs, I was initially worried about buying specs online as I have always used the opticians but I will never pay opticians inflated prices again. Would highly recommend *****

Lovely, if not exactly as described

18th August 2017

First of all, I have a complicated prescription, outside of the range most online opticians serve. I have to pay ~£400 for a pair of glasses on the high street and have sometimes ended up with a very uncomfortable pair of glasses for that price.

I ordered glasses with from SelectSpecs on the 14th of a month, they arrived on the 10th the following month. This frame (Infinity 8011) is displayed on the website as having a double-knot infinity design on the arms. The frame which arrived had sturdy plain arms instead. Photographs attached.

They are, however, the clearest and most comfortable pair of glasses I have ever worn. They sit lightly on my face and my vision is better than it has ever been. I wouldn't imagine going back to the glasses I had before.

Thank you SelectSpecs for making people's lives better.

So easy with great styles and prices

So easy, they keep you up to date on where your glasses are in the process. I love my new glasses so much lol. The price was perfect lol

Good but think about exactly what frames will suit your vision needs as well as 'fashion'.

14th June 2016

The service was good, the prescription was accurately followed, the strength and appearance was good. But I am not sure that I chose the best frame for me.

I am elderly, 100% compos mentis and I read and write a lot (I'm a retired academic). I have worn prescription glasses since I was about 11 years old. I have some astigmatism but not severe, I was short-sighted but now of course my near point has moved away and my accommodation is less good! That is I am a normal old bloke. But I did not get on with varifocals so I have 3 pairs: reading (the ones from select specs), intermediate (for computer screen use) and distance (for driving etc). This means that I sometimes lose a pair and cost is very important.

I bought the select specs ones because I lost my previous reading ones. I chose small oval frames with no lower rim. They look good. Actually they are less good in use because if I leave them on when I walk about I can see (uncorrected) below them. So I would value more choice of frames at the lowest price.

If I wanted to pay more I could go to a high street optician and get a much wider choice and equal accuracy and strength of construction. Perhaps you need some words which describe the frames in use and any predictable draw-backs such as small lens = small field of corrected vision and uncorrected vision around them.

Strength of construction is important. Last year I bought some (not from select specs but from an optician) and they have proved not really robust enough for my rough treatment of them - one lens did not fit the frame well, screws in the frame have loosened so that a lens dropped out etc etc. So robustness is really important.

My select specs frames have been robust so far. We shall see.

Fit - As expected I'd recommend this product

  Excellent Service

12th June 2016

I will certainly use Select Specs again. Excellent product and service, even down to double checking I had used the correct prescription, as the strength of one eye is vastly different to the other.

Help with frame sizes

Finding the correct frame size to suit you requires you to know a little about the different measurements that are used.  Size information is normally broken down in to arm / temple length (ranges between 120 - 150mm), bridge width (ranges between 14 - 24mm, and lens width (ranges between 40 - 62mm).  We also include a frame height measurement where possible, this can vary depending on frame style.

I already have glasses, how do I find out their size?

If you have a pair of glasses that are a perfect fit, you can usually find the frame size information on the frame - usually on the arm or the bridge.
