Lens quality

I ordered a pair of glasses from you in April as I was unsure of the quality buying online. I was more than happy with them and consequently ordered 2 more pair in August.

Unfortunately these 2 pair did not live up to the quality of the previous pair in respect of the quality if the lenses. They do nor appear to be of the same specification although I ordered the same strength as those ordered in April. The current ones strain my eyes and I find I can't wear them for more than a few minutes without feeling eye strain and virtually headaches.

I am trying to figure out a way to have the lenses checked to ensure the spec is correct for the L and R eyes and has not somehow been reversed or misconstrued in some way.

Allen McLean

SelectSpecs.com says...
Hi Allen, I have checked this order and your previous order, there is a difference in the CYL values, with your previous order you entered a minus ( - ) CYL value, but your more recent order you entered a plus ( + ) value CYL, so this would explain the difficulty you're experiencing.

Please contact our customer services team via our website and they will be able to resolve this for you through our exchange policy.

Forget high street opticians, this is the business!

You can't go wrong! Six quid for glasses that we'd pay ten times more for in the regular high street.

Just get your prescription folks from the grumpy high street optician , have a look online for a trendy style that your optician probably doesn't stock and enter the details online. Simples! Let's face it , for six quid, even if it doesn't look quite right ( which I emphasise hasn't happened to me yet) you can always keep them as your "second pair" for emergencies.

I rang them and they even found my old order from 5 years ago and helped me order the same frame! Now tell me which high street optician offers that service? If you can find an assistant in a local branch do yup think they can be bothered to find a frame that you like?

For those of you nervous about getting it wrong( and even second time wrong I wasn't overly confident ) just call them ( out of hours also) and they'll hold your hand through it. I'm the converted that you'll all wish would just shut up!!!!!!

Help with frame sizes

Finding the correct frame size to suit you requires you to know a little about the different measurements that are used.  Size information is normally broken down in to arm / temple length (ranges between 120 - 150mm), bridge width (ranges between 14 - 24mm, and lens width (ranges between 40 - 62mm).  We also include a frame height measurement where possible, this can vary depending on frame style.

If you require further help, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team on 03303 801 190 (Mon - Fri, 9am - 17.30pm) for further assistance.

I already have glasses, how do I find out their size?

If you have a pair of glasses that are a perfect fit, you can usually find the frame size information on the frame - usually on the arm or the bridge.

Size Guide - Frame Dimensions

150 - Arm / temple size (in mm), a 3 digit value normally ranging from 120 - 150.
22 - Bridge size (in mm), a 2 digit value normally ranging from 14 - 24.
