Adwoa Aboah in Chanel Eyewear SS18 Collection

If you’re wondering who Adwoa Aboah is…..well, where have you been? This incredible force of nature is known for many things; she’s a model, an activist, a new age feminist, founder of the GURLS TALK platform, an online influencer, and one of fashion’s biggest cover stars. All in all, she’s a pretty great human being. And she’s fronted a gazillion campaigns for the likes of Burberry, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs Beauty, and more. In her latest collaboration, she’s seen channelling one of modern culture’s most celebrated figures, Coco Chanel.

Sporting a white turban, tweed and pearls, this recreation of an old vintage photograph was shot by Karl Lagerfeld (who else?).

This iconic look is brought right up to date with a pair of modern visor shades, a style that draws inspo from 70s retro but keeps it contemporary with a clean silhouette. You can steal Adwoa’s chic yet futuristic sunglasses style with these Guess GU7561 sunglasses, available in 4 different colours.

You can see the full campaign over on Chanel’s official YouTube channel. Adwoa can be seen modelling two core pieces from the current SS18 collection, featuring one prescription eyewear look and one pair of monochromatic sunglasses.

Copy Adwoa’s Chanel eyewear look with a pair of geek chic frame and an oversized lens. Classic square and rectangular specs are great for framing the face, and colours such as plain black or havana brown are suitable for everyday wear. These Dolce & Gabbana DG5028 prescription glasses are the perfect style steal.

To mimic monochrome like Adwoa, work a pair of block colour sunglasses into your wardrobe – like these Salvatore Ferragamo SF835S designer frames, which are perfect for the summer. Black and white tones can be teamed with just about anything in your wardrobe, and can be styled with casual or more dressy outfits. A total classic, monochrome shades are a must-have and they simply ooze Coco Chanel in the 50s and 60s.
