The Academy Awards (also known as the Oscars) are recognised as being a one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in the world.
The annual Oscars event aims to acknowledge the best in the film industry for the previous year.
This year is the 92nd edition of the ceremony, which was held on the evening of the 9th February 2020 at the Dolby Theatre, Hollywood.
Many awards were handed out on the night including awards for ‘Best Picture’, ‘Best Supporting Actor’ and ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’, won by ‘Parasite’, Brad Pitt and ‘Jojo Rabbit’ respectively.
In addition to this, there were also some fantastic examples of A-list fashion and eyewear on the Oscars red carpet.

Joaquin Rafael Phoenix is best recognised for being a popular American actor and producer.
He is mostly known for his role as Arthur Fleck/Joker in the DC film ‘Joker’, which premiered last year.
He attended the Oscars this year, pictured with his fianceé Rooney Mara.

Shelton Jackson Lee (aka Spike Lee) is an American film director and producer from Atlanta, Georgia.
He is best known for directing popular movies including the likes of ‘Jungle Fever’, ‘He Got Game’ and ‘Do the Right Thing’.
He attended this year’s Oscars with his wife Tonya, sporting a bold look.

Billy Porter is an American musical theatre performer, hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He is best known for his performances in musicals such as Kinky Boots, Little Shop of Horrors and Miss Saigon.
Porter took to the stage with singer Janelle Monae to open this year’s Oscars ceremony.
