Street Style Specs From London Fashion Week

House of Holland London Fashion Week

With Autumn upon us, last week saw the arrival of every Fashionista’s favourite time of the year, London Fashion Week. Here we round up the best street style to be found in the capital, with a focus on eyewear, of course.

Classic Cat Eye

Forever Yours Betty and Pip Jolley are our two favourite tangerine queens. In this shot they show us just how cool prescription lenses can look. Opting for a flirty cat eye style, Betty wears classic black and Pip mixes it up with clear frames.

Sheeee’s baaaaaack! @pipjolley ??? #tangerinequeens #lfw #streetstyle #orangehair #love #bffs

If this feline style has tickled your fancy, why not try the Hallmark glasses in style E9857.

As well as giving off all the right fun and flirty vibes, these frames are designed for comfort with a super lightweight nose bridge and are prescription ready. These retro specs are made from durable plastic, come in four different colours and are as cheap as they are chic…(very!)

Coloured Lens

We love this shot of Miss Brown Got Around from Geoff Nichols, it goes to show how a well chosen pair of sunnies can perfectly complete an outfit. The blue trench and orange mirrored lenses really make each other pop (because they are opposites on the colour wheel, you can thank us for that later.)

If coloured lenses are your thing then Vuarnet have got you covered. These ultra-cool frames are the stuff that fashion week dreams are made of, all the retro appeal of the round lens, with a little aviator style mixed in.

We love the matt black frames with shiny gold lenses and aviator bar to match, because black and gold is a colour combination nobody could ever tire of. However if these haven’t won your heart, there are six colour options to choose from, find this style at Vuarnet VL 1602 Cable Car, you won’t regret it.

Big Bold Wayfarer

Charlotte Groeneveld of The Fashion Guitar always manages to put together simultaneously fashion forward but wearable outfits. The secret here is keeping the colour palette completely black and white and accessorising with urban-chic trainers and sunglasses.

Wayfarers are a great way to style down an outfit, in this shot proving that they can make even a multi-layered tulle skirt look effortless.

If you’ve attended one too many fashion week champagne receptions and could do with covering up some sleepy peepers then look no further than Ray-Ban. Being creators of the Wayfarer, there’s really nobody that does it better than them.

The Ray-Ban RB2140 boasts polarised lenses (for reducing glare from the papz) and have cool crystal green lenses for adding a touch of subtle colour to those ‘all black everything’ outfits. If you fancy really going wild with the colours, this style is also available in tortoiseshell.

Round Lens

Chloe Miles is every inch the Instagram queen when it comes to understated chic. This monochrome look for Forever 21 is as at home at London Fashion Week, as it would be with a coffee and a croissant on the banks of the Seine. The beret and the simple round sunglasses prove that accessories are everything when it comes to achieving the ultimate Parisian cool.

These gold and grey wonders from Prada add just a little something to the simple round lens. Pale gold is a subtle way of adding luxury to a look and keeps an outfit feeling cool instead of brassy. The simple nose bridge and wing detailing to the temples is modern and minimal, without taking away the classic appeal of these frames.

If these timeless beauties have stolen your heart then grab yourself a pair at Prada PR 54SS.

Semi Rimless

Are these sunglasses the ultimate accessory? Probably yes. Anna Proffitt, shot here by Sharj Photography combines some high fashion sunnies with a leather biker jacket and scarf for one of the best ‘thrown together’ looks of the week. Nearly naked makeup and softly tousled hair keeps this look young and effortless, but for us the sunglasses are the star of the show.

Luckily for you, it appears we have found just the thing to recreate Anna’s look! These sunglasses by Miu Miu are an unusual take on the semi-rimless style. The cut off bottom of these shades accentuates the cheek bones and gives these a seriously modern edge. The gradient to the lens brings a little colour to the bold black frames and reflects the warm of your skin tone.

If you can’t get enough of this semi-rimless style, but aren’t feeling the black, these also come in light havana and green. If you really want to make a statement then find these frames at Miu Miu 07QS.
