Coloured Lenses

Spotted on one of our favourite influencers Eva Chen, sunglasses with coloured lenses are big news for SS18.

Coming in every shade on the spectrum, the best thing about this trend is that there’s no ‘one colour fits all’ rule – literally anything goes.

That means you can go with your favourite hue or pick a shade that coordinates with the rest of you outfit and take the meaning of colour-blocking to a whole new level.

When it comes to getting the look for ourselves, we’ll be taking a cue from Eva and opting for a bold pair of yellow lenses.

These Polaroid PLD 6013/S frames fit the bill and will tint vision with a warm, sunny glow.

Matchy-Matchy

Perhaps one of the most unusual trends to come out of NYFW, demonstrated so well by model, make-up and hair stylist, and editor Stella Von Senger, are frames that match your hair colour.

Considering how easy it is to dye your hair any colour under the sun, this is one of those under-the-radar trends that anyone can work into their signature look.

Just like Stella’s, these light-brown Celine CL 41450/S frames will suit a range of hair tones from blondes to brunettes.

But don’t worry if that’s not you, because at SelectSpecs we’ve got sunglasses in every colour.

White Frames

If New York Fashion Week proved anything it’s that white sunglasses are a 2017 trend that’s going to be sticking around for 2018 too.

Seen on the runways at Adam Selman and worn on the streets by Susie Bubble, the 90s staple accessory is going nowhere fast.

The mainstay style has gained so much traction it’s on the verge of becoming a wardrobe classic, just like its predecessors cat-eye and aviator sunglasses, which is even more reason to invest in a pair.

Take these Salvatore Ferragamo SF831S sunglasses.

With their white frames, silver arms and tinted lenses, there a high fashion yet minimalist dream which puts them straight at the top of our wish list.

So, there you have it, our top three eyewear trends from NYFW.

And with London, Paris and Milan on the horizon, we’re certain the list of must-have sunglasses for SS18 is only going to grow.

In the meantime, take a look at what’s hot for winter 2017 with our guide to pairing autumnal florals with sunglasses for a street style-ready look.
