Re-glaze - happy with service although took longer than expected

I had my Bolle glasses reglazed to my prescription. Happy with the result. System kept me up to date with progress although it took a bit longer than I would have expected - there is nothing strange about my prescription so I would have expected a quicker turnaround.

Reglaze money saver

I had a minor prescription adjustment to one eye and my local optician offered to change one plain lens, with only anti-reflection coating, for £56.

I had the frames reglazed by Selectspecs as follows: Both lenses made as bifocals, fully coated for only £50 the pair. Excellent work!

Badly Scratched Lens

I had my glasses reglazed a little over a month ago and all seemed well when the glasses arrived, however the right lens is becoming very scratched (despite the "Anti-Scratch coating") which means that it is becoming harder to see out that particular lens. I haven't been abusive with the glasses, I've kept it in a hard case and used a microfibre cloth to clean the lens but the lens is still becoming scratched. I may well have to get them reglazed elsewhere.

SelectSpecs.com says: Hi, sorry to hear this, this may be a case of the coatings coming away rather than the lens being scratched but it's hard to give an answer without seeing the problem. Please contact our customer services team regarding this issue and they should be able to help find a solution to this problem.

Regalaze of Police Semi-Rimless glasses

I was very pleased with the quality and speed of service for the reglaze of my Police semi-rimless glasses, originally purchased from Select Specs. My order was sent on 11 December and returned on 21 December, completed in 8 working days! This was despite the Christmas postal period. My prescription had changed, and I can read with ease again, thank you !

Reglaze frames

The finished reglaze was excellent. I had had some problems with the orginal prescription but the Customer Service Department was very helpful and the problem was sorted out quickly and efficiently. Thank you for your excellent service.

I didn't know what services to ask for so I got the wrong thing...

I didn't know how to ask for the glasses to be made without the circles that bifocals can have, and I still don't know. I ended up with my glasses that have a little circle in the bottom that I'm supposed to look through. I should have realized that a reglazing that was so inexpensive would be missing something-and it was. If I can figure out the correct thing to ask for, I might send them back and try again.

SelectSpecs.com says: Not sure what the problem is here as your review is a little unclear. It looks like you chose "R28 Round segment Bifocal", we do "D" shaped Bifocals and these may be more suitable for you.

If you drop our customer services team an email about this they should be able to assist you further.

Excellent service reglazing my Oakley rimless glasses

I read many reviews before sending my broken Oakley glasses to SelectSpecs. As the price was so good and the majority of reviews were positive I decided to take a chance. The service, communication and speed were excellent, with my glasses arriving today, only 10 days after they received the frames. Reglazing of new own-frame with varifocal photo-chromic lenses

I purchased a new Zegna designer frame on ebay uk at a bargain price, and then used selectspecs.com to fit prescription lenses. Online, I ordered varifocal photo-chromic super thin plastic lenses, and was able to attach a copy of my eye-test prescription to the online order. I paid by Mastercard and posted the frame by first class post to selectspecs. I was able to follow the progress of my order online from receipt of frames by selectspecs to dispatch of completed order to my UK address, via Royal Mail next-day delivery. The whole process took approximately two weeks. The quality of the lenses and the fit into my new own-frame is excellent. I would use selectspecs again. I saved at least £100 on the price of the lenses.

Progressive transition reglaze

I ordered transition progressive replacement lenses from Selectspecs because the cost of replacement lenses in New Zealand was over four times the price quoted by select specs. My order took a few weeks to be returned to me but I am really pleased with the quality of the lenses used. I shall definitely use the service again and have recommended it to friends.

Just to say thank you for the reglaze of my specs. I am very pleased with the result and the quality of the lenses. It would have cost me considerably more in the High Street. The internet systems worked well although it was the first time I had used this method.

this was a top quality service I was offered a free reglaze of my current glasses due to the delivery time of my new frames.

Very pleased with the finished product.The lenses are perfect.My only concern was the length of time the order took to complete,but I guess that was because of the prescription type, and that I ordered 1.74 lenses which I think take a little longer to prepare. Overall though an excellent service and one I shall use again and would recommend to anyone.Thank you.

Reglaze with 1.74 index

There was a long delay apparently the 1.74 index lenses were out of stock. When I received them the lenses were thicker than my current 1.74 lenses even though the prescription was reduced so they should have been thinner.

SelectSpecs.com says: Apologies for this delay. However, a free pair of glases from our Bronze collection was offered and accepted by you as compensation.

Re glazing of existing frames

I was a little concerned about reglazing my frame with new varifocal lenses, I need not have worried, a very quick turn around, 10 days, and they are perfect. Thanks for retrieving my PD (which I now know) from the existing lenses. I have recommended and will recommend you in the future, and of course use you again. Thank you very much.

When original glasses were received, lenses caused headaches, but SelectSpecs replaced the lenses with different ones and new ones were fine.

Great value, excellent quality, first time purchaser with difficult prescription..

First time I have not used the highstreet for my glasses. I sourced and supplied the frames and had two pair glazed, both high refractive index, one clear one polarized. Delivery was a bit longer than expected but both arrived within 3 weeks and were spot-on. The high refractive index polarized glasses are superb, expensive but affordable and about a third of high streeet price. To have high quality polarized lenses in my prescription is superb, no more clip-on sunglasses. Would not hesitate to use again.

Poor Service

Once I received my reglazed glasses, after paying £12 P&P it total, they arrived with the lens not correctly fitted. Although they offered to fix them, which would total £19 in P&P fees, they would only refund £7.50 maximum, and didn't even bother to respond to my complaint.

SelectSpecs.com says: Karen, we respond to all complaints within 24 hours but on occasion we need to refer the questions to our optician for a response to a query. Unfortunately with regards to postage, we will only cover up to £7.50 in postage fees as we know that this is the maximum cost this kind of item should cost - There is no way it should cost £19 to send your frames to us by an insured method by post or courier.

Couldn't find a single fault

I liked the frames I already had and didn't want to fork out lots of money on a new pair of glasses when the ones I already had suited me well. Reglazing from SelectSpecs turned out to be the best decision, the speed, cost of service and quality of the work was brilliant and a daily update on the process meant that you know exactly what was happening with your glasses.

Better than the high street.

I went to a high street out outlet and they quoted me an extortionate amount. So as I had already bought from selectspecs, I went back to them for the reglaze ( no fault with the glasses, just an accidental heavy scratch). There price and quickness in getting the job done was brilliant. Easy to do and well recommended.
