The NME Awards are undoubtedly one of the most notable alternative music events in the United Kingdom. Since the first event in 1953, the ceremony has gone from strength to strength.

It has helped to recognise the most talented artists in the rock and indie sectors of the industry.  Past award winners include the likes of musical legends such as David Bowie, Paul Weller, Muse and Blur.

The 65th NME Awards ceremony was held on the 13th February 2018. Notable winners of this year’s gongs included Liam Gallagher, Charli XCX, Lorde, Muse and Kasabian.

There were also a lot of well-dressed celebrity attendees at the event.

Here are some of the best celebrity fashion and eyewear looks from this year’s NME Awards show!

Anne Marie

Singer Anne Marie attended the NME awards.

She sported a high necked black crop top paired with some faux leather trousers, which looked insanely stylish!

A matching aviator jacket adds a touch of modernity to the look.

She also wore a pair of epic specs, which certainly helped to spice things up.

Indie rock threesome Alt-J also attended the NME Awards.

All of the members have dressed up well for the occasion, while still having a cool vibe about them!

We love Gus’s look in particular, who is pictured to the right.

He sported a muted bottle green suit on the night, which looks so dapper.

He has teamed it with a plain white tee, adding a casual vibe to the ensemble.

Huw Stephens

It’s a mad job getting to host #nmeawards, a real pleasure! Ready for one of those soppy messages? Well, I never take all this nonsense for granted. Music is and has always been my favourite thing, and I am ridiculously lucky to do the things I do. On the radio, and off the radio. What I love about the NME awards is that back in the day, in the 50’s, they were hosted by some cheesy radio host and sponsored by a hair gel. Nothings changed. It was lovely to see @loylecarner win, a man so humble and talented, a real treasure who does important things with his position, as well as be a rapper so natural, clever and inspiring. @haimtheband spoke from the heart about women who make music. They are real, and always are a breath of fresh, Californian air. @brixsmithstart gave a wonderful tribute to Mark E Smith, her former partner and The Fall bandmate. It was brilliantly written. I loved @garbage when I first heard them, and am looking at my blue 7inch of Only Happy When it Rains right now. Seeing Shirley Manson win the Icon award was 👍. She is one of the most impressive people I’ve ever met. I think she should write an autobiography. @commoonicate are a brilliant band; do not ignore them!!! I thought their mate @louisbhose had snuck up on stage with them, yknow in a hilarious award ceremony vibe, then he told me directed their winning video. Sorry Louis, and congrats. It was lovely to see @skeptagram again. Smashin it. He shouted out all the women in BBK’s life, from their managers to partners. The love for @jmebbkinsta is mad. My new best friend Naomi Campbell gave @jhusdaily_ Best Album. Common Sense is so good; witty, full of smashes, ideas, vibes. No Lean n Bop though, a tune I walked onstage to at the @nmemagazine awards bout 3 years ago. You get to choose your walk on music, this year I walked onstage to @boy_azooga’s Face Behind Her Cigarette. Swagger. Talking of which; @liamgallagher was and is Godlike Genius. You couldn’t plan it, or him, or them. Great things happen when people believe in themselves, are given chances, make music they believe in. Glad @geraintjohn came back from Malaga for it. Also, @mikewilliamssss is fierce! 🖕
