CFDA Awards 2019: Best Dressed Celebs

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards is an annual awards ceremony, which honours the best in international fashion design.

In the months leading up to the event, over 1,500 nominations flood in from members of the Fashion Guild.

Specific awards handed out on the night include the likes of the ‘International Award’ and the ‘Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award’.

Previous winners include well-known names in the fashion industry such as Marc Jacobs, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and Vera Wang.

This year’s awards ceremony was held on the evening of the 4th June 2019 at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

Winners include Brandon Maxwell for the ‘Womenswear Designer of the Year’ Award and Jennifer Lopez for the ‘Fashion Icon Award’.

Some of the A-list attendants were well and truly dressed up for the occasion.

Check out some of our favourite celebrity looks from the event down below!

Jennifer Lopez

New York born actress and singer, Jennifer Lopez looked sensational at the CFDA Awards this year.

She sported a stunning orange two piece, consisting of a long sleeved cropped turtleneck top and a flowing maxi skirt.

We love how it’s been vamped up with the addition of the glitter on the top – so A-list!

In true J-Lo style, she has chosen to accessorise with some gorgeous drop earrings and a barely there makeup look.

Anna Wintour

The Vogue Editor-in-Chief herself Anna Wintour was pictured in attendance.

She opted to wear a stunning layered maxi dress for the CFDA Awards – we absolutely adore the print and colour palette here!

She has chosen to subtly accessorise with simple jewellery, a pair of strappy sandal heels and of course, a pair of blacked out shades.

He has finished off the dapper look with some chic rounded specs.

Brad Goreski

Brad Goreski was also in attendance at the CFDA Awards this year.

The Canadian fashion stylist opted for a trendy ensemble for the evening.

He chose to wear a plain white shirt with a matching suit jacket and shorts combo, which is so cool!

We love the asymmetric theme of the look as well as the contrasting colours – so unique.

The outfit has been finished off with a pair of smart brogue style shoes, as well as some geek chic specs.

Hamish Bowles

Hamish Bowles is best recognised for being the editor-at-large for American Vogue.

He wore rather an unusual but fantastic ensemble for the CFDA Awards this year.

He opted for a all-black trouser suit, featuring bold red tassel detailing from the lapels to the arms of the jacket either side.

We also love the interesting cuff detailing on the shirt sleeves underneath – we have never seen anything like this before!

The outfit has been styled up with matching smart shoes and a pair of black rimmed specs.
