Glastonbury Festival Fashion Guide

Glastonbury is just around the corner and the line-up looks amazing.

After a year off, it’s coming back bigger and better than before, with Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran headlining, and stars like Katy Perry, Emeli Sande and Stormzy across the other stages.

If you’re getting ready for the big event, you might be wondering what to pack. Glasto is notorious for its muddy fields and rainy weather, so wellies are an absolute must.

Other essentials include:

Sun tan lotion – Even thought it’s likely to be damp, the sheer amount of time you’re going to be spending outside means that sun protection is essential.

Raincoat –  Pack a lightweight waterproof that you can slip into your handbag if the sun comes out.

Reusable water bottle –  Festivals are thirsty work, and there are lots of fill-up stations on site to keep you hydrated. Be sure to take a reusable bottle to help the environment (and the poor souls that have to clear up the site after it’s all over).

A torch –  Chances are you’ll make at least one night-time mission to the toilet during your stay at Glastonbury, and it can be pretty treacherous navigating the army of tents and swathes of mud in the dark. So go prepared and pack a trusty pocket torch for emergency midnight trips.

Once you’ve got all the basics out of the way, it’s time to think about your style.

Festivals are a great place to experiment with looks you might not normally try, so whether you want to channel your inner rock chick or boho babe, it’s time to go wild.

Here are some top tips on what’s hot to get you started.

Colour

It’s a great time to go bold with colour in your outfits and in your hair.

Make your hair as your main accessory with a pastel purple or rose-gold tint. Or maybe you want to go full unicorn with a rainbow job?

Style with oversized round sunnies to get the look:

Braids

On the subject of hair, braids are a great way of styling hair that hasn’t been washing for a few days, so perfect for festivals. They’re also great for keeping hair off your face and they look pretty damn cool too.

Be sure to add some hair accessories to your plaits for a really up-to-the-minute look. Thread a ribbon through or try some hair rings to add some hardware to your style.

Buns

Buns are so hot right now, and they’re another great way of keeping hair out of the way while you enjoy the acts.

Space buns are always a good idea 🙌🏼

Glitter

When it comes to festival make-up, glitter and sparkles are the order of the day.

Get starry eyed with twinkly shapes, or opt for a dewy pearlescent finish with eyeshadow and highlighter.

Wear with these flower-power sunglasses for a fab finishing touch:
