Halloween Make-Up for Glasses Wearers 2017

Halloween is fast approaching but you still haven’t decided what to wear! Witch? Cat? Devil? What will you choose this year? And how can you stand out from the crowd?

If you’re a glasses wearer, it can be difficult to decide how you want to incorporate your glasses into your outfit and make them look natural. When it comes to make-up, it can be especially challenging to dress your face up when your glasses are just going to cover it up anyway! The struggle!

But, don’t worry, we’re here to help your fancy dress predicament easier. Here’s a ‘how to’ guide to look spooktacular with your specs!

Velma

Well-loved kids cartoon, Scooby-Doo, features the character, Velma. With her distinct bobbed haircut, orange attire and bold glasses, everyone will know exactly who you are and your frames will become an essential part of the look! You can’t be Velma without those specs!

For makeup, keep it simple with lots of bronzing; defined features will really make those glasses pop! With that orange outfit, it would look great with some pale orange eyeshadow and nude lipstick. The beauty of this look is that you can really experiment with makeup; it doesn’t require an awful lot of effort and no need for ‘fake cuts’, unless, of course, that’s your thing!

These frames would be ideal:

Skeleton

If you’re going to wear glasses to the party, you could focus on one part of the face for make-up, so that it doesn’t get ‘covered up’ with the frames. Dressing as a skeleton means you can turn your lips into a scary-looking mouth – teeth and all!

This look has included face jewels, too – perfect if you want to add a bit of glamour to your Halloween outfit! The attention is drawn immediately to this, meaning that you can wear your glasses and still look great.

Vampire

Think body glitter, fangs and a big old cape and you’re on the right tracks for a vicious vampire outfit this year. Simplicity with make-up means this look is versatile – you could go for a smoky-eye with eyeliner and glitter or keep it simple with one block colour.

An essential is the fake blood – vampires are of course known for sucking the blood of their victims! Using red lipstick or fake blood, try something to similar to this look:

Known for their pale skin, why not try some pale glasses to complete the look?

Alex Vause

Orange is the New Black hit Netflix watchers by a storm with its popular series. One of its main characters, Alex Vause, is known by her feisty personality and bad-ass attitude. With dark frames and bare minimal make-up, this is a great last-minute outfit to go for this year!

Dress your eyes up with dark eyeliner but keep the rest of your face fairly natural. The outfit is rather basic too – go for an orange prison jumpsuit or plain beige t-shirt and baggy trousers.

These specs would be perfect for this look – the dark frames would look great as an everyday look, too:
