London Fashion Week 2017: Cartoon Prints Gone Crazy

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. We’re talking Fashion Week of course! The bi-annual event has finally hit the streets of London this week and British Designers are gearing up and getting ready to display their A/W17 collections to the public.

The latest trend we are seeing all over the catwalk is Cartoons. Yep, you read that right! There are a few designers who are bringing back your much-loved childhood TV favourites. We’re talking Pink Panther, PowerPuff Girls, Hello Kitty and SpongeBob SquarePants. Get ready to feel some nostalgia and relive your childhood through fashion!

This simple camel coloured corduroy slip dress has quirky Pink Panther detailing, based on a popular show from the ’60s.

Mini magnifying glasses and pink paw prints are patched all over the dress, making the design instantly more fun and lighthearted. The other items in the collection are similar in style. From dresses to skirts, all of the pieces simply pop and stand out in style.

Fyodor Golan

Fyodor Golan is no newbie when it comes to mixing fashion & cartoons. On a previous collaboration with Hasbro, the designer worked with characters such as My Little Pony and Transformers.

Currently, the theme behind Fyodor Golan’s latest designs for A/W 17 are the one and only: Powerpuff Girls. Sugar, spice and everything nice, these designs will turn heads and make people reminisce about watching the show when they were younger. Whether you were a Blossom, Bubbles or more a Buttercup kinda persona, you will love these cute pieces.

The Powerpuff Girls are all about female empowerment, and it’s no surprise that ‘Power’ is at the forefront of the collection.

Ryan Lo

Hong Kong native designer, Ryan Lo, brought some Kawaii fun to London with his A/W17 Hello Kitty collaboration.

If you’re a fan of outrageous attire, over the top hairstyles and bold make up looks, then this collection is right up your alley.

His designs are bright, fun, and full of frills and ruffles. Perfect for those who are a little more feminine, but love texture and cartoon prints.

But wearer be warned, there is a whole lot of pink in this collection!

Celebrity spotting: SpongeBob Squarepants was seen posing for pictures with various stars and London Fashion Weekend veterans.

From Lou Teasdale to Ashley James, everyone wanted to snap a selfie with Spongebob. For Nickelodeon’s Gold 18th Anniversary in collaboration with the LFW Design collective, they brought out this loveable creature from a pineapple under the sea.

Six international designers – Peter Jensen, Bobby Abley, Salar, Maria Francesca Pepe, Suecomma Bonnie and Bad Denim combined their forces for this collection. The items in this line cater to both men and women, offering a range of clothing, footwear, accessories and jewellery.
