It’s that time of year again – an excuse to go out, update your summer wardrobe and prepare for that holiday. Every season there’s a different trend and if you’re style-savvy, you’ll want to stay on top of what’s new. So here are my top five fashion essentials!
Single shoulder Cut-Out
A popular spring trend this year has been the off-the-shoulder top, making its way into every high street store.
I love the look of them but, unfortunately, they just don’t suit my shape. So, I was glad to learn that this summer the innovative single-shoulder cut out is going to make an appearance.
The fashion brand Tibi has been flaunting this look, and now high street stores are doing the same.
Paired with denim shorts and a long necklace, this style of top looks light and summery, perfect for that sunny holiday.
And, of course, you can’t forget your sunglasses to pull together the outfit. Try out these cat-eye frames, keeping in tune with that angular look.
Corset – Style Waist
Becoming more popular, this style cinches in the waist and is the focal point to an outfit.
Singer Shiga Lin wears the look here. She pairs it sophisticatedly with a white shirt and black midi-skirt, sticking to monochrome colours.
Designers such as Sally LaPointe and Misbhv have been using this centre piece on the catwalks, too.
Think beach-style and nautical stripes and you’re on the right lines. Elle have been rocking the look – pairing their bold, blue stripes with bright red to really make them pop.
Step away from the kaftan, and find a whole new take on summer dressing. We show you how in the latest issue of @elleuk. Lighten up your look with soft pyjama separates for an off-duty take on your favourite workwear. River Island took an alternative twist on this style, keeping to monochrome colours and bold sunglasses.
The stripes carry through the whole outfit, creating continuity while harmonizing the look.

Oasis is one of my favourite high street brands. This year, they’re not letting me down with their fun, fruity designs and bright colours. Pineapples, watermelons and lemons are all making an appearance!
I think these designs are perfect for summer, bringing a fresh feel your everyday outfits.
To make your fruity outfit even cuter, pair up with one of these colorful frames – watermelon or pineapple, anyone?
No, I’m not taking bath wraps or dressing gowns, but the latest summer fashion trend this year will be robes.
They look stunning over a casual, everyday outfit, adding a unique touch.
Dress it up with heels and bold accessories – no need for a jacket this summer. Jonathan Simkai are loving this style already.
Above, actress and model Emily Ratajkowski has styled a khaki green robe with straight-leg jeans and a slogan tee.
Open toe heels, hoop earrings and oval sunnies give an urban look to the outfit. The circular frames tie nicely with the jewelry and the patterned bag.
