Carly Rae Jepsen’s New Pop Album: Emotion

She may be best known for her 2012 global smash Call Me Maybe, but thankfully Carly Rae Jepsen quickly proved herself to be so much more than a one-hit-wonder, consistently releasing pop gem after pop gem in the wake of her breakthrough single.

Her ear for a hook is undeniable, and if her recent single Cut To The Feeling is any indication, we’re all in for a treat when she releases her upcoming follow-up to pop-perfect album Emotion.

Carly has been spotted recently taking a well-deserved holiday in picturesque Italy (after writing over an astounding 50 tracks for her as-of-yet unnamed new album), and the summery snaps are making us want to run away and join her!

So sit back, relax, put Call Me Maybe on repeat and join us as we take a look at Carly’s most sun-drenched fashion highlights (and how you can steal her style).

We adore this vintage black and white polka dot dress featured in the gorgeous shot above.

As described in the caption, the dress was originally worn by her Step-Grandma, then her Step-Mum, and now her. Why buy new when you can rediscover garments as beautiful as these?

With a real trend of buying and reworking secondhand clothing currently at the forefront, we love to see Carly advocating for this eco-friendly approach to fashion.

We also love her suitably retro shades. Adorning an oversized cat-eye style frame, Carly has chosen the perfect accompanying accessory here to real draw the whole outfit together.

We adore this classic ditsy print top featured in the above shot. Light, bright, and easy to ear, ditsy prints also give you numerous options when deciding upon matching accessories, through the multiple colours you can use to draw out.

Carly has chosen a vibrant orangey-red for her gorgeous bucket hat, transforming the subtle colours from the ditsy into a central statement piece.

Her shades are here are playful and stylish, opting this time for a more modern look than the previous retro vibe. Try the Miu Miu MU 13NS for some killer summer looks.

She writes something like 50 tunes for her next album, takes a break in Italy and- plot twist…. never comes back ✌🏻

Take note – Carly serves us a serious lesson in summery separates in the above picturesque snap.

Adorning the same pair of shades as in her previous outfit (highlighting the versatility that the right pair of frames can offer), Carly rocks the check look, falling bang on trend with the current resurgence of gingham.

Her woven sandals add a coolness to the outfit, while an over the shoulder bag keeps things practical and playful.

An investment in a good peasant top can see you through summer after summer, and we love how Carly has styled this wardrobe staple.

The ruffled 3/4 length sleeve add interest and detailing to her look, while the long pleats and scoop neck means this particular garment can be worn both as a beautiful dress, or a smock top depending on the bottoms.

Pair with some neutral sandals or sneakers and you’ve got an easy-to-wear summer staple.

Well kind of trapped 😉📸@Vanessaheins

The above shot may not have been snapped on her recent Italian getaway, but we love the continuation of the soft neutrals and separates.

Keeping it simple in monochrome, Carly rocks the classic breton top featuring stylish skinny stripes, while her high-waisted white jeans continue the theme with their singular black panel running the length of the leg. Roll up the jeans and pair with some sneakers for a breezy summertime vibe.
