Cannes Film Festival kicked off last week as celebrities and film stars flocked to the seaside resort of Cannes to preview the year’s biggest new films. But Cannes isn’t just about movies. Every year, the festival is just as renowned for its style as it is for its silverscreen exclusives. If you’re going to be seen at Cannes, you have to look a million dollars.
Of course, with all of that French Riviera sunshine, there’s always a great selection of eyewear at Cannes and this year is no exception. We’ve already spotted some super stylish sunglasses moments on the red carpet and off it.
So, if you’re looking for summer eyewear inspiration, let’s take a look at some of the best celebrity eyewear styles at Cannes 2016.
Pixie Lott embraces Cannes style this week as she soaked up the sunshine in a little white dress and a retro-inspired head scarf. With a glass of bubbly in hand, she accessorises her look with a clutch and a pair of this season’s hottest sunglasses from Fendi.
The Fendi FF 0177/S shades feature a contemporary cat-eye design with rounded lenses and metal brow detail. Get Pixie’s look with this white and silver version.

Everyone has been talking about Kristen’s Cannes style. Her glamorous new look was a change from her normal casual style, featuring metallic mini dresses, strappy heels, Chanel skirts and amazing eyewear. While walking the red carpet, Kristen wore this pair of contemporary round sunglasses with transparent frames.

It wasn’t just the ladies looking great at Cannes this year. Shia LaBeouf reinvented his look as he attended the premiere of his new film, American Honey, alongside co-star Riley Keough. His look consisted of a new curly hair-do and a pair of cool mirrored wayfarer shades.
Despite being a Hollywood star, Shia didn’t exactly splash out on his sunglasses like the others. The Polaroid PLD 6009 is reasonable for most people and comes in 5 other colours too.

Susan Sarandon looked as elegant as ever at Cannes 2016. In this snap she shared with her Instagram followers, both Susan and Naomi Watts sported some seriously stylish eyewear as they prepared for their red carpet premiere. We love Susan’s retro-inspired yet contemporary sunglasses, which featured bold black rounded frames and lighter temples.
Get the look with the Fendi FF 0026/S sunglasses, with modern acetate frames and a two-tone design.
Eva Longoria dazzled in white when she attended Cannes in a very chic outfit. As she stepped out at the 69th annual Film Festival, she wore white from head to toe and finished off the look with a pair of luxurious gold sunglasses.
Her style of choice were a pair of over-sized aviator frames, just like the Celine CL 41392/S sunglasses which are available online at SelectSpecs. These designer beauties are finished in a gorgeous gold colour with round aviator frames.
One of our favourite looks from Cannes 2016 was Anna Kendrick’s very French Riviera-inspired look. Attending the festival to promote her latest film, Trolls, Anna dressed up for the occassion in a red, white and blue Marc Jacobs dress and a pair of retro-inspired round sunglasses.
If you love Anna’s Cannes style, you can get a similar eyewear look with the Miu Miu MU 51QS sunglasses which feature gold frames and havana detail.
Last but certainly not least, Justin Timberlake was also at Cannes to promote the Trolls movie, which he stars in alongside Anna Kendrick. This photo couldn’t get much cooler, as he cruises around Cannes wearing a pair of totally on-trend clubmaster-style sunglasses.
Steal Justin’s style with the very similar looking Barbour International BIS-026 sunglasses, which feature square lenses and bold browline detail in black.
