New film The Choice is set to hit cinemas this month and is a must-see if you love romantic dramas.
Based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks (author of The Notebook), it tells the story of two neighbours who fall in love at first sight, though it takes them a while to realise it.
Staring Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer as the main characters along with Maggie Grace, Alexandra Daddario and Tom Welling, it looks to be an uplifting and heart-warming movie, as you can see from the trailer, below.
While the interesting relationship between this unlikely couple is captivating, something else you may have noticed in the trailer is the appearance of so many stylish sunglasses. It definitely caught our eye here at SelectSpecs!
Set on the beautiful shores of Beaufort in North Carolina, it’s really no surprise that sunglasses are a big feature in this film. As the sun shines, the cast can be seen barbecuing on the beach and taking boat rides while sporting some seriously amazing shades to cover their eyes. The main characters even wear shades on the official movie poster.
The good news is that we’ve managed to ID some of these on-screen sunglasses, so, let’s take a look at some of the best eyewear styles from The Choice and how you can get the look for yourself.
Benjamin Walker’s Amazing Aviators
Main man Travis Shaw (played by Benjamin Walker) is easy-going and sees himself as a bit of a cool ladies man, so we wouldn’t expect to see him in anything other than a pair of aviators. This classic style is the most effortlessly cool look there is.
Throughout the film, Benjamin wears the same pair of silver aviator sunglasses with dark lenses that we’re almost certain are Ray Bans. After all, Ray Ban are the ultimate brand when it comes to aviators and are instantly recognisable.

Teresa Palmer’s Vintage-Inspired Shades
Feisty medical student and leading lady Gabby Holland is played by actress Teresa Palmer in the film. Her character has a simple and casual style, but throughout the beach scenes she looked amazing in a pair of round tortoiseshell sunglasses.
We can confirm that the exact sunglasses worn by Teresa Palmer in the film are by a brand called True Vintage Revival and are the TVR504 Vintage JD sunglasses. While these aren’t available at SelectSpecs, we’ve found an almost identical dupe.
The SS Collection S8256 sunglasses in brown havana are perfect for that stylish vintage-inspired look and are a steal too, at just £11.25.
Anna Enger’s Cool Clubmasters
Finally, this chilled-out beach barbecue scene had to be one of our favourites – just look at all of those stylish sunglasses. We love them all, but the clubmaster pair worn by Anna Enger’s character Megan really caught our attention. They’re cool, a little bit retro and perfect for summer styling.
As much as we squint, it’s hard to tell where Anna Eager’s sunglasses are from, but luckily that doesn’t matter as we have a super stylish pair that are extremely similar. Check out the Gucci GG4278/S sunglasses which feature the same retro-inspired round lenses and clubmaster frames in a tortoiseshell finish.
