Getting your Glasses Prescription

Before you can place an order for prescription spectacles or prescription Sunglasses you will need to have a copy of your prescription, when you have had your eyes examined by your ophthalmic optician you will be issued with a copy of your prescription, if you do not receive this you may request a copy providing it is not over 2 years old or 1 year if you are over 70 year of age, you should not feel under pressure to purchase glasses immediately, therefore perhaps try some frames on to get an idea on what suits you and make a note of the sizes, we would also suggest that you request your PD/Pupillary Distance with the prescription.

The Association of British Dispensing Opticians, the Association of Optometrists and the Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians recommend regular eye exams as your eyesight can change over this period, furthermore it is important to check the health of your eyes, even if you feel that your prescription has not changed. If your prescription is older than your opticians recommended recall we recommend having your eyes re-checked.

Your prescription must be entered into our online order form when ordering prescription spectacles, you can also add additional notes in the box provided, but if you are in doubt you can attach a scanned copy to your order (Optional), you can also fax or post your prescription to us (Optional), we can then double check before proceeding.
