Approximate Total Frame Width: 129mm**Frame Weight: 6g
**Please note that this is a calculated frame width based on the measurements we have available and it's possible the actual frame width may vary by up to 5mm.
The measured frame weight includes the manufacturers plastic lenses. The final weight of your glasses will differ depending on your prescription and the selected lens option.
Single vision lenses contain a single prescription over the whole lens area and are suitable for all types of uses including reading, computer work or distance & general day to day use.
If you're short sighted (minus SPH values on your prescription) you're likely to require glasses for distance, whereas a long sighted (plus SPH values on your prescription) person would require glasses for reading.
Should you need glasses for both reading and distance use, we would recommend a Bifocal or Varifocal lens option.
Bifocal lenses are used for the correction of presbyopia.
A bifocal lens is created with two different areas of vision correction, which are divided by a distinct line that sits horizontally across the lens. The top area of the lens is used for distant, while the bottom part of the lens is used for closer vision. Bifocal lenses are normally identifiable with a 'D' shaped segment in the bottom part of the lenses.
Where possible, we would always recommend a Varifocal (progressive) lens over a Bifocal lens.
Varifocal lenses are used for the correction of presbyopia.
Varifocal lenses allow you to see at any distance as they offer 3 blended prescriptions correcting near, distance and inbetween vision in a single lens. So whether you're driving, working on a computer, reading or shopping, you can simply wear one pair of varifocals to accommodate all your vision needs.
The only downside with a varifocal lens is that they can be harder to adapt to for new wearers compared to other lenses, but the benefits of this lens type can outweigh the disadvantages for most wearers.
Photochromic or light adaptive lenses are lenses that are clear (or nearly clear) indoors and darken automatically when exposed to UV/sunlight. They are essentially ordinary glasses indoors while providing a tinted sunglasses level of protection while outside.
Other terms sometimes used for photochromic lenses include "Transition lenses", "light intelligent" and "variable tint lenses".
Please do note that the level of tint and rate of change with photochromic lenses can vary depending weather conditions.
Sunglass lenses are a form of protection designed primarily to prevent bright sunlight and high-energy visible light from damaging or discomforting the eyes.
Ordinarily, sunglass lenses are available with a basic or graduated tint, or with a dark polarised tint. While a basic or graduated tint still offers 100% UV protection, it is possible that some users may find they are not dark enough for bright or very bright conditions.
In this case we would recommend a dark polarised tint as they are not only darker than a basic tint, they work to block reflected light and glare from reaching your eyes which ensures optimum comfort.
We spend a large part of day using our electronic devices, from TV's, tablets, smart phones, or laptops, whether it's at work, at home, or anywhere in between. We're continually connected and exposed to the potential harm of blue light.
Fortunately, our BlueGuard Digital Protection lenses are specially designed lenses that can help protect your eyes from the harmful blue light emitted by electronic devices.
For those buying clear prescription lenses, and if you are constantly exposed to blue light during your day, we would highly recommend upgrading to our BlueGuard Digital Protection lenses for a small additional cost.
