    2nd time lucky but not in 10 days

    After rejecting a faulty pair of glasses (after waiting for over 3 weeks for them to arrive) I ordered these. I were not really the style I wanted but they had a 10 day delivery promise. 10 working days turned into 3 weeks and 2 days. The glasses are good enough; the lenses move in the frames when you are cleaning them so the fit could be better. I am very happy that the legs are 145mm long as most selectspecs legs are smaller. Unfortunately with selectspec the longer legs equates to a bigger frame; don't know why they cannot make more frames available with longer legs. When I paid for return of the faulty pair it cost me £3 so why are we charged £6 to have our glasses posted out to us in their "free" container ? The container is much lager than most of the specs and unlined so has no further use as a specs case! Why? It would not kill selectspecs to provide a decent lined and hinged case of the correct size to fit the glasses. This pair did not even come with a cleaning cloth. This is the fifth pair I have bought from selectspecs but given the faulty initial pair and the waiting time (x2) I may look elsewhere next time. I think that with the frequent tv advertising selectspecs are now too busy for the facilities / staffing level that they have and service has dropped.

    SelectSpecs says...

    Hi, we can confirm our normal production time are 7-10 working days, delivery is in addition to this. I have checked your orders and your recent orders were completed just outside our normal production timescales due to the selected lenses and your level of prescription. Unfortunately we do not have a 10 day delivery promise as you have advised?

    With regards to our cases, we do provide a basic case which is suitable for the frames. We also have a selection of additional cases available to purchase if required.

    I can confirm our TV advertising is not impacting our level of service. Every order is individual and some may take longer due to the selected lenses, frame and customers prescription. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
