Glasses are fine BUT TOO TINTED!

I'd recommend this product

The reason for the "BUT!" I asked for a light tint, but unfortunately your website does not provide a level indicator as to how dark the tint would be. The result is I have glasses that can only be described as sunglasses and therefore impossible to wear indoors as too dark. Will not buy tinted lenses from you again.

I needed a new prescription - and knew the size of glasses I needed (bridge width and arm length). Website makes it easy to filter to just the glasses which match. Better choice than Glasses Direct. Much better value than a high street optician. Bought a second pair to use as dark glasses. You can see online the progress of your order.

I'm Annoyed!

Have you ever refused to replace your current glasses because while they were way past their best and desperately needed replacing, they might not exactly be falling to bits but the thought of several hundred pounds for a decent new pair just annoyed you? I had heard about select specs previously but never took them seriously enough to do anything... until one morning I found myself gluing my old frames for the umpteenth time and thought enough is enough. I already had a current prescription and I also had a quote for £425 for so called 'bespoke' varifocals from a well known high st store. These are the best type of varifocal lens with the widest area of focus which I liked, although I didn't like the price! I found the selectspecs process surprisingly easy and in no time I had chosen my frames and lenses and I was staring at an online shopping basket containing a pair of glasses which, as far as I could see, were identical to the ones that I had chosen locally but with one very confusing difference. They were almost one fifth of the price! The phrases 'too good to be true' and 'if it quacks like a duck' cynically ran though my thoughts and I was actually going to cancel the purchase but literally at that moment I reached up to adjust my glasses because my right eye had gone blurry and poked myself in the eye because the lens had chosen that moment to fall out. It was the last straw and my attitude changed to one of 'what have I got to lose', so I pushed the buy button and waited. I'm not sure how long they took to arrive but it was roughly just over two weeks. I must admit to being quite nervous when I opened the well packed parcel and held my new glasses in their case for the first time. I quickly opened the case and to my surprise, inside I found... a perfectly normal pair of glasses, exactly as described. I don't know why I was surprised but I was. These looked and felt perfectly the same as every other pair of expensive glasses that I had ever bought from a regular high street optician. Tentatively I raised them to my face and... no fuss, no drama, all of a sudden I was seeing the world again in HD for the first time in two years. They were literally perfect. I have had them now for a month and I can tell you that I am as happy with them today as I was when I opened their case and put them on for the first time, amazing, but I am still very annoyed. I am annoyed that for years I have been paying way too much for good specs... never again. Thank you so much Selectspecs. 'I'll be back!'

nice wide glasses with thin rims

I bought these in distance vision to leave in my car , so didn't want to spend the earth.. but I've ended up wearing these more often than my John Banks pair I bought from a high street opticians, these glasses were a third of the cost of my 'designer' pair and are lighter and more comfortable. the lenses are clear and nice and wide coupled with the narrow rim they have proved ideal for driving. I've had these for ~ 3 months now and they still feel great. Since discovering Select Specs I have become a great advocate of buying several cheap pairs of glasses instead of 1 or 2 expensive pairs ... I just wish Select specs sold prescription safety glasses.. then I could buy every pair from one supplier.
